Chapter 849

"No." Alexander Hamilton's expression remained unreadable. "A hospital isn't the place for that."

The memory of their last encounter in that dark alley flashed through his mind, his eyes turning icy.

Vincent Croix's face stiffened, his lips twitching. "Mr. Hamilton seems quite experienced."

He deliberately turned his injured cheek toward Bianca Langley as she approached. "I didn't expect you to come."

Bianca's stilettos clicked against the floor as she walked closer. Behind her sunglasses, her gaze was sharp as a blade. "Just checking if you're dead yet."

She casually pulled a photo frame from her bag and smashed it onto the ground.

The wooden frame splintered into pieces, the photograph slipping out.

Alexander glanced down, his brows furrowing instantly.

It was a picture of Bianca and Vincent, with their baby nestled between them. He remembered clearly—it was taken during the baby's hundred-day celebration.

Vincent struggled out of bed, staggering as he picked up the photo. The hospital gown hung loosely on his frame, his bloody palm staining the edges of the picture.

"Now you care?" Bianca sneered. "Why didn't you stop me when I burned the rest?"

Vincent's Adam's apple bobbed. "I'm sorry..."

"Do you remember how this photo was taken?" Bianca's voice trembled.

Vincent clenched the photo tighter, oblivious to the glass shards digging into his palm.

Alexander spoke up suddenly. "The baby wouldn't stop crying that day until she saw the balloons. The photographer captured that exact moment."

Vincent's hand shook slightly.

Blood dripped onto the photograph.

"I'll make it right..." His voice was hoarse.

"Don't bother." Bianca cut him off. "I'm here today for answers."

She turned to Alexander. "I'd like you to witness this."

Alexander sighed and nodded.

Vincent shot him a dark look. "Ask away."

"What really happened with last night's car accident?"

"Probably enemies seeking revenge." Vincent gave a bitter smile. "I dragged you into it."

Bianca's lips curled mockingly.

"Second question." She extended her hand. "Why was this photo on your desk?"

As Vincent handed it over, he suddenly grasped her wrist.

Bianca tried to pull away but couldn't break free.

Alexander stepped forward, but Bianca shook her head. "Just bear witness, Mr. Hamilton."

Vincent stared at her sunglasses before slowly releasing her. "I just... wanted to remember what I missed."

His blood smeared across Bianca's hand.
