Chapter 587
Evelyn Carter stood up and straightened her white coat. "I'll go handle the admission paperwork. Your homeroom teacher has already notified your parents. They'll be here soon."
Ethan Valentine abruptly sat up, his feet hitting the floor. "Will you come visit me, Dr. Carter?"
"No."
She turned and left the ward. After completing the procedures at the registration desk, she walked out of the hospital entrance.
Alexander Hamilton was leaning against his car, his expression stormy.
Evelyn ignored him and kept walking.
"How is he?" Alexander straightened up.
"Just got bandaged." She didn't slow her pace.
Alexander quickly caught up. "I really didn't mean to—"
"Collisions happen on the court." Evelyn finally stopped. "But I don't understand why you'd pick a fight with a high schooler."
His eyes turned icy. "Are you calling me old?"
"I'm saying you're usually so composed. Why suddenly play basketball today—" She cut herself off.
A realization struck her.
Her head snapped up to look at him.
The man's eyes flickered with guilt.
"You did it on purpose?" Her voice was frigid.
Alexander pressed his lips together. "Yes."
"You're in your thirties. How immature can you be?"
"You have no idea what goes through these teenagers' heads." His jaw clenched. "At their age, all they think about is—"
"Is what?"
Alexander pulled out his phone and rapidly sent a message.
A photo appeared moments later.
"See for yourself."
Evelyn took the phone. The screen displayed a Japanese manga-style image—a female teacher in stockings pinned against a desk by a male student, her blouse missing two buttons.
"......"
"Now look at what you're wearing today." Alexander smirked.
Evelyn glanced down at her white blouse and tailored pants.
The phone vibrated.
A video began autoplaying.
"Ah!" She nearly dropped the device in shock.
On screen, the teacher and student were...
"This is what they fantasize about." Alexander retrieved his phone. "That kid was looking at you the exact same way."
Her ears burned as she spun on her heel to leave.
"I'll drive you." He grabbed her arm.
"No!"
As they struggled, Vivian Dempsey came rushing over. "Finally found you! Is Ethan okay?"
Alexander's expression darkened further. "He'll live."
Vivian raised an eyebrow. "Someone's jealousy is strong enough to smell three blocks away."
Evelyn cut in. "Just minor injuries. He'll be observed for a few days."
"Good. Would be a shame if such a handsome junior got scarred." Vivian grinned.
"Going to see him?"
"Nah, company business." She waved a hand, then glanced at Alexander. "Mr. Hamilton, mind giving me a ride?"
He snorted and yanked the car door open.
Evelyn remained rooted in place.
"Get in." His tone brooked no argument. "Unless you'd prefer to continue our discussion about that video?"
Flushing crimson, she slid into the backseat.
