Chapter 280

Yvonne froze, her face instantly darkening. "Did you just call me childish?"

Gregory raised one finger deliberately. "First, Vincent made it clear this is Alexander's private matter. Forcing them to take sides is pointless."

He raised a second finger. "Second, no matter who Dr. Carter ultimately chooses, Vincent will have to call her sister-in-law. Do you understand now?"

Yvonne's eyes widened as her voice rose sharply. "You actually like a woman Alexander dumped?!"

"Miss Young," Gregory's gaze turned icy. "Mind your language."

Vivian waved her phone with a bright smile. "Don't stop now, keep going. I'm recording everything for court. Since I've got depression too, we can share a hospital room."

Yvonne's face flushed crimson. "Dr. Wilson, I misjudged you!"

"My vision's perfectly clear," Gregory said coolly. "Annabelle knows exactly what she's done. As for you—" He paused meaningfully. "It's rare to see someone so eager to be someone else's pawn."

"That's a lie!" Yvonne protested heatedly. "Annabelle is my best friend!"

Vivian cut in, "Then why isn't she here fighting her own battles? Why send you as her attack dog?"

Yvonne faltered before finally sputtering, "You have no idea how important Annabelle is to Alexander!"

"Not our problem," Vivian rolled her eyes.

Vincent quickly intervened. "Let's not argue. How about some pool to cool off?"

Yvonne immediately scoffed. "Can she even play? Annabelle was personally taught by Alexander."

"Beginners can learn," Vivian challenged.

"Right now?" Yvonne lifted her chin smugly. "We're all experts here—especially Vincent and Nathan, trained by Alexander himself."

Gregory frowned. "Vivian, don't take the bait."

"Let's go." Evelyn spoke softly but firmly for the first time. "I'd like to try."

Vivian's eyes lit up. "Now that's the spirit! Let's show them what we've got!"
