Chapter 71
"Gregory Wilson. The 'Gregory' is like 'thunder'—just one character different from my name."
Alexander Hamilton's gaze sharpened instantly. "From the medical school?"
Vincent Wilson's eyes lit up. "You know my brother? I told you he's impressive. Even you—"
Alexander let out a cold laugh.
A server arrived with their drinks. He took the glass and downed it in one go.
Vincent quickly intervened. "Alexander, that's vodka. You shouldn't drink it like—"
"Who is your brother in love with?"
Vincent shook his head. "He's kept it completely secret. Not even our mother knows."
Just then, Vincent suddenly waved. "Nathan! Over here!"
Nathan York hurried over and greeted respectfully, "Alexander."
Vincent slung an arm around him. "What took you so long? Alexander's been waiting."
"Traffic."
Nathan sat beside Alexander and immediately pulled out his phone. "Should I brief you, or do you want to see for yourself?"
Alexander glanced up. "She posted again?"
"Just now."
Gregory frowned. "Who got rich?"
Nathan rolled his eyes. "She posted on social media."
"Whose social media?"
"Vivian Dempsey's."
Gregory tensed. "Why are you checking her social media?"
Nathan shot back, "Don't pry into Alexander's business."
He handed the phone to Alexander. "Take a look."
The photo was taken outside a trendy restaurant, the crowd blurred in the background. The two figures at the center stood out starkly.
A man carried a woman as he ran forward. The woman was almost entirely hidden, only her flowing dark hair and skirt visible.
Nathan analyzed, "The composition is straight out of a romance drama. Vivian never used to post stuff like—"
Alexander abruptly stood, grabbing his coat.
Nathan chased after him. "Alexander, don't leave yet—"
He cut himself off mid-sentence.
Alexander's expression was terrifyingly dark.
Vincent caught up too. "What's wrong?"
"Annoyed. I'm leaving. Put it on my tab."
"Wait, your company's been—"
Alexander turned a cold glare on him. "Think I can't afford it?"
"No, no, of course not..."
Nathan pressed, "Should we keep monitoring Vivian's posts?"
Alexander paused briefly. "...Notify me immediately if there's any news."
The two watched him leave, exchanging bewildered looks.
Back at the bar, Nathan recounted what had happened.
Vincent was stunned. "So the 'wife' Alexander mentioned in that interview wasn't Annabelle?"
Nathan nodded. "Same pronunciation, different name."
"We all thought he was still hung up on her. Turns out he really got married."
"Honestly, Nathan, how was Alexander with Annabelle?"
"Need you ask? He gave her everything."
"Stringing him along for over twenty years... that's just cruel." Nathan's tone was heavy.
