Chapter 204

Alexander Hamilton reached past Peter Harrison, his hand stretching toward Evelyn Carter. Peter reacted instantly, slapping his wrist away. "Mr. Hamilton, know your boundaries."

"This is between us. Stay out of it."

"Ex-husband and ex-wife—what relationship is left?" Peter scoffed. "I heard you just got engaged. Isn't it inappropriate to harass Evelyn now?"

Alexander narrowed his eyes. "I've looked into you. Your family has been close to the Andersons for generations—you're practically her brother. I might even call you 'Peter' someday. Don’t make this awkward."

Peter raised a brow. "What are you implying? You still think—"

"I want to remarry her."

"Are you insane?" Peter stared in disbelief. "Does your fiancée know?"

Alexander's tone softened slightly. "It's complicated. Mr. Harrison, let me speak to Evelyn alone."

Evelyn stepped behind Peter. "We have nothing to discuss."

"If you're angry, fine. Let’s find somewhere quiet." Alexander reached for her. "The car is parked where it always—"

Evelyn grabbed Peter’s arm. "Let’s go, Peter."

Alexander blocked them abruptly.

His gaze locked onto Evelyn’s hand clutching Peter’s sleeve.

"Let go." His voice turned icy.

Evelyn only tightened her grip, interlacing her fingers with Peter’s.

Alexander’s pupils constricted. "Stop this. If you want revenge, pick another way. Don’t drag an innocent person into it."

"Are you threatening him?"

"A warning." Alexander stared at their joined hands. "Friends should know their limits."

"He’s my boyfriend."

Alexander laughed coldly. "At least pick a convincing lie. Gregory Wilson would’ve been more believable."

"Believe what you want."

Alexander stepped forward again. "Don’t embarrass yourselves in public—"

"Mr. Hamilton," Peter cut in, gesturing to their matching coats. "Convinced now?"

Alexander’s face darkened instantly. "Evelyn!"

She met his glare without flinching. "Alexander, take a good look. You’re the outsider now."
