Chapter 694
Lily and Lotus sat in the car, no longer as timid as when they first met. The siblings watched Alexander maneuver the steering wheel with admiration shining in their eyes.
"Brother," Lily chirped, "the villagers say you're a big boss in the city, but you're different from those other bosses."
She recalled Leonard's menacing subordinates and instinctively scooted closer to her brother.
Alexander glanced at them through the rearview mirror. "Actually, I'm the CEO of Hamilton Group."
The air in the car froze instantly.
Evelyn anxiously observed the children's reactions. Lily blinked her large eyes, then suddenly beamed. "I believe you! You and Dr. Carter are good people!"
Lotus nodded vigorously, his small hand clutching his sister's sleeve.
Only then did Evelyn's tension ease. Throughout the drive, she patiently described their future school life until the car stopped in front of Hamilton Tower.
"Miss Langley is already waiting," Evelyn said. "What about Lily and Lotus?"
Alexander pondered briefly. "Let them come up with us."
Lily pressed her face against the window, staring at the towering glass skyscraper. "Brother... can we really go in?"
Alexander ruffled Lotus's hair. "Of course."
Bianca stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, cradling her baby. When she saw them enter with two children, she nearly dropped her coffee cup. "What's this...?"
"My children," Alexander stated without batting an eye.
"What?!" Bianca's face paled. "You have illegitimate children? And they're this old?"
Alexander chuckled. "Just kidding."
Bianca exhaled sharply. "You scared me. But men are unpredictable—who knows when a secret child might pop up."
"Did that woman Vincent was seeing get pregnant?"
Bianca's fingers tightened until her knuckles turned white. "...She's dead."
The air grew heavy.
"Suicide," Bianca whispered, her voice feather-light.
Alexander and Evelyn exchanged glances.
"The police suspected me first." Bianca gave a bitter smile. "But if I wanted to act, I would've done it long ago. Why wait till now?"
"What really happened?"
"I don't know." Bianca hugged her child tighter. "But Vincent has gone mad—he even dares to defy my parents now. Leaving the baby with you is safest."
Evelyn sensed danger. "What is he planning to do to you?"
"Don't worry." Bianca smirked coldly. "He's not insane enough to kill me. I just want to take my parents abroad for safety. They've always treated Vincent like their own son..."
Evelyn understood. As children, their greatest fear was burdening their parents.
Alexander looked at Evelyn and said firmly, "Leave the baby with me. Vincent will come to his senses when he calms down."
"Right, he's always been so clever." Bianca's eyes were hollow. "Married me for his career back then, and now that he's successful, he wants to make it up to her. Truly... brilliant."
Evelyn gently grasped her hand. "When this storm passes, focus on raising your child well."
At the mention of her daughter, a flicker of warmth returned to Bianca's gaze. "I don't want anything else. He can have the company, the reputation... I offered divorce long ago, but that foolish girl..."
"What did the police say?"
"Pesticide poisoning. Confirmed suicide." Bianca laughed bitterly. "She left a note. Said divorce would ruin Vincent's standing at the company and cost him his daughter..."
Alexander sighed. "She loved him deeply."
"I met her," Bianca murmured. "A sweet, kind-hearted girl. Now she'll live forever in Vincent's heart."
Yes.
A pure, untainted Unattainable Love who willingly died for love.
Vincent's heart was filled with love, pain, guilt—and above all, hatred.
Hatred for himself. And even greater hatred for Bianca and their daughter.
