Chapter 806

"He hasn't dared to harass me at the company recently, but he's gone completely off the rails." I stirred the ice cubes in my coffee cup. "Rumor has it he's renovating that wedding house again."

"Wedding house?"

Evelyn's fingers paused slightly.

"Didn't Bianca mention it?" I scoffed. "She smashed that place to pieces. Almost burned the whole house down with the wedding photos."

Bianca had told me all this herself.

Alexander had grown close to Adrian during his time in Canada. Though this was his first time hearing about the fate of the wedding house, his expression remained unfazed.

"That's Bianca for you," he said calmly. "When she loses her temper, even she's afraid of herself. But Vincent..."

He hesitated. "He's been making a lot of threats lately, but I think that's all he's capable of."

"Oh?" Evelyn arched an eyebrow.

"Is he still delusional?" I let out a derisive laugh. "He should've realized at the airport—Bianca isn't the same girl he could push around anymore."

Hurt only matters if the other person still cares.

Bianca had long erased Vincent from her heart.

"He claims Bianca will change her mind the moment she sees him." Alexander shook his head. "No idea where he gets that confidence."

Meanwhile, Vincent shivered in his empty office.

He was wealthy beyond measure, yet he had nowhere to call home.

The apartment he'd gifted his first love, the villa where Bianca had lived—both made him restless.

As if something irreplaceable was missing...

In the end, he simply moved into his office.

Apart from money, he had nothing.

When the morning sun peeked through the curtains, Bianca found an envelope on her doormat.

No postmark, no shipping label.

She was relieved her parents hadn't seen it.

Bending down to pick it up, she slung her camera over her shoulder and headed for the woods.

Passing a trash bin, she hesitated.

"Rip—"

As the envelope tore open, a diamond ring clattered to the ground with a crisp sound.

Far more extravagant than the one she currently wore.

Bianca smirked, ignoring the letter inside, and tossed it into the bin.

Before leaving, she made sure to stomp hard on the ring.

At dinner, a sudden knock echoed at the door.

Mr. Langley immediately stood up. "I'll call the police—"

Last time in China, Vincent's men had ambushed them, leaving them on edge.

Now they'd fled abroad—why was this ghost still haunting them?

"Dad, it's fine." Bianca pressed his hand down. "It might be a package from Adrian."

She didn’t want her parents worrying about her again.

Hearing Adrian's name, Mr. Langley relaxed. "Don’t you young people just video call these days? Still writing letters?"

Mrs. Langley teased, "What do you know? Photographers love this kind of romance."

Bianca forced a smile and hurried to the door.

She pressed her ear against it, confirming silence before opening.

No one was there.

Only the morning ring, lying undisturbed.

The dent on the band was gone, the diamond glittering under the light.

A chill ran down Bianca's spine, but she picked it up anyway.

She knew—no matter how many times she threw it away, Vincent would find a way to return it.

Back at the table, she finished her meal calmly, excusing herself to rest.

Once her parents were done, she checked the time and dialed Evelyn.

"Ring—"

Alexander answered. "Evelyn's washing up. Need something?"
