Chapter 584
Principal Evans rubbed his hands awkwardly, his smile frozen on his face.
A ponytailed girl slipped up to Evelyn and shyly handed her a note. "Senior Carter, Ethan Valentine asked me to give this to you..."
Evelyn unfolded the paper to find the words "Go out with me" scrawled in bold handwriting.
"Tell him I don't date minors." She refolded the note and handed it back. "It's illegal."
Alexander Hamilton stood nearby, his knuckles turning white.
Principal Evans and Dean Lorenz exchanged uneasy glances, beads of sweat forming on their foreheads.
"What about next year when he turns eighteen?" The girl pressed hopefully.
"Nonsense!" Principal Evans slapped his thigh in frustration. "You're in your final year - focus on your studies!" He glanced at Alexander's stormy expression and lowered his voice. "Tell Ethan to concentrate on his college entrance exams!"
The girl shrank back, then suddenly turned to Alexander. "Sir, are you single?"
"Taken." Alexander's voice was icy.
Principal Evans exploded. "Outrageous! Everyone write self-criticisms immediately!"
As the girl scurried away, Alexander arched an eyebrow at Evelyn. "Dr. Carter, quite the charmer."
"Likewise."
"I refuse outright." His tone carried hidden meaning. "No room for misunderstanding."
Evelyn smiled faintly. "Mr. Hamilton thinks I wasn't clear enough?"
"Your choice." Alexander narrowed his eyes. "Just some brat."
......
After the anniversary events, Evelyn was leaving when a figure blocked her path.
Ethan Valentine stood in his basketball jersey, sweat-dampened bangs framing his sun-bright smile. "Senior Carter, I've got a game this afternoon. Will you come?"
"I—"
Vivian Dempsey grabbed her arm. "Yes! Absolutely!"
Ethan's eyes lit up. "East campus in thirty minutes!" He dashed off like the wind.
Evelyn sighed. "You're encouraging his misunderstanding."
"Young muscles are delicious!" Vivian's eyes sparkled. "I've upgraded my dating criteria to version 3.0 - tanned athletes are top tier!"
"When did this upgrade happen?"
"Just now!" Vivian dragged her toward the gym. "Life's short - seize the joy!"
They didn't notice Alexander rising slowly from the podium, his gaze darkening.
"That Ethan...popular?" Alexander asked abruptly.
Principal Evans mopped his brow. "Basketball team captain, flooded with love letters. His mock exam scores dropped significantly..."
Alexander adjusted his cuffs. "I'll take a look."
The east campus gymnasium buzzed with excitement.
Evelyn had barely taken her seat when girls nearby whispered excitedly: "Captain Valentine looks so hot today!"
On court, Ethan moved with panther-like agility, sinking three consecutive three-pointers that sent the crowd wild. He winked at the stands. "Senior Carter, if I win, movie date?"
The crowd chanted: "Say yes! Say yes!"
Vivian whistled. "Depends on your performance~"
Ethan gave a dashing salute, eliciting another wave of screams.
"Youth is wasted on the young." Vivian sighed dreamily. "No thirty-year-old has that energy."
Evelyn glanced toward the entrance where Alexander leaned against the doorway, his gaze sharp as a blade.
