Chapter 278

Nathan York's forehead glistened with sweat. "This has nothing to do with me..."

"How can you say that? Don't you see how Alexander has been taking care of Annabelle all these years?"

"...I see, but—"

"But what?" Yvonne Young jabbed her finger toward each person in the room before stopping abruptly in front of Gregory Wilson.

Gregory's brows furrowed, his lips pressed into a thin line as he stared down at her.

Yvonne's ears turned pink. She quickly pulled her hand back. "Vincent Wilson!"

"Right here, at your service, my lady."

"Who is this? Aren’t you going to introduce him?"

Vincent exhaled in relief. "How could I forget? This is my older brother, Gregory Wilson. He just returned from abroad."

Yvonne stole a glance at Gregory, her voice softening. "So this is the brother you always talk about."

"Exactly. My brother’s amazing—an internationally renowned anesthesiologist."

"A doctor?" Yvonne twisted the hem of her skirt. "Impressive."

Vincent smirked. "Gregory, this is Miss Yvonne Young."

Gregory frowned slightly. "The Young family?"

"The one from north of the city," Vincent explained. "My brother doesn’t mingle in business circles. He’s not familiar with Hudson."

Yvonne blinked sweetly. "I understand."

Vincent suddenly tensed. "My brother already has someone in his heart."

Yvonne’s smile froze. "Who?"

Vincent shot a quick look at Evelyn Carter. "You wouldn’t know her."

"Is she in Hudson?"

"Well..."

Gregory answered calmly, "Yes."

Yvonne pouted. "Is it trendy for good men to fall in love early these days? Annabelle took Alexander, and now someone else got there first..."

Vincent raised his hand. "I don’t have an unattainable love."

Yvonne scoffed. "You think you compare to them?"

"...Fair point."

Vivian Dempsey had been watching silently until she suddenly kicked her chair back. "Are we playing truth or dare? Stay on topic."

Vincent paled. "Please, let’s not bring that up..."

"Oh, I will." Vivian planted her foot on the chair. "Vincent, Nathan, pick a side today. If you can’t tell right from wrong, don’t bother showing your faces again."

Nathan forced a smile. "Viv, this is Alexander’s personal business..."

"Cut the crap! You’ll have to call someone 'Mrs. Hamilton' eventually. Choose now."

Nathan’s smile stiffened as he elbowed Vincent frantically.

Vincent chuckled awkwardly. "...Does it matter which one we call 'Mrs. Hamilton'?"
