Chapter 219
Their proximity bordered on intimate.
Evelyn Carter turned slightly. "She must come from a wealthy family?"
Gregory Wilson chuckled. "Great minds think alike."
"Do you know her?"
"I've been abroad too long to recognize the new generation in Hudson. You could text Vincent—he'd definitely know."
"I don't have Vincent Wilson's contact."
Gregory raised an eyebrow. "Didn't you connect through Message in a Bottle?"
Her ears burned. "Your brother told you about that?"
"Too proud to admit it." His tone cooled. "Alexander Hamilton warned me to keep Vincent away from you."
Evelyn's lips curled into a bitter smile.
"Vincent grew up idolizing him. Yet after three years of marriage, my brother still doesn't know who you are." Gregory's gaze sharpened. "The world knows Hamilton Group's CEO is married—but no one's seen his wife. Protection? More like erasure."
Her fists clenched.
"To him, I'm just a decorative title."
"A man who truly values his woman integrates her into his world." Gregory sighed. "At minimum, he'd introduce her to his inner circle."
Memories surfaced—Peter Harrison introducing her to friends weeks into dating.
Crash!
Shattering glass cut through the lounge.
A girl's shriek followed.
Simon Stapleton pulled the trembling figure against him. "I've got you," he murmured.
Gregory frowned. "Another conquest. Should we warn Natalie?"
Evelyn's phone was already snapping photos.
"Evidence first." She saved the shots swiftly. "Hopefully unnecessary—but irrefutable in court."
Gregory shielded her as she captured clearer angles.
She forwarded the sharpest images to Vivian Dempsey.
The callback was instant. "Who's this downgrade? That Sweet Lolita getup belongs in 2005!"
"Recognize her?"
"Not at all. Wait—" Vivian's voice spiked. "Simon's hunting again? Didn't he knock up the dean's daughter?"
"Still married."
"Cheating scum!" Vivian's tone turned predatory. "His targets are always loaded. She's somebody."
Evelyn hummed agreement.
"Too much contour to ID. Let me crowdsource this."
