Chapter 206

Evelyn gave them a slight nod. "Hello."

Old Tie thumped his chest enthusiastically. "Don't be shy, sis. We're all family now. Just say the word if you need anything."

Dayu teased, "Her boyfriend's right here. Who asked you to play the hero?"

Old Tie waved him off. "You'll need someone for wedding prep or home renovations, right? Don't worry, sis. I'll use the best materials for you."

Evelyn understood—Old Tie was in the renovation business.

Peter leaned in and whispered, "He started a renovation company after graduation. Business is booming."

"I see."

"Dayu was a sports scholarship student. Now he's a PE teacher at Hudson University."

That explained why they'd chosen the Hudson U basketball court.

"Xiao Fei works at the same design institute as me. And Monkey here is the real champ—married the department beauty and just had twins last month."

"Impressive."

"Those two little ones are adorable. I'll take you to see them sometime."

"Sure."

Monkey stood up, impatient. "What's the hold-up, Peter? It'll be dark soon."

Peter hesitated, glancing at Evelyn.

She gave him a gentle push. "Go on. I'll wait over there."

The weekend basketball court buzzed with energy. The benches along the sidelines were nearly full, mostly occupied by young women—some cheering for their boyfriends, others quietly watching a particular player.

These seats had unofficially become the "reserved section for loved ones."

Peter's eyes lit up when she volunteered to sit there. "I'll go, then."

"Mm."

"Call if you need anything."

Evelyn chuckled. "What could possibly happen on a college campus? Go."

Peter smirked. "I've always been the one waiting for them. Today, it's their turn to wait for me."

The locker room was nearby, and the guys changed quickly. Soon, Peter emerged in a red jersey, his clothes bundled in his arms.

"Evelyn."

"Give them here."

As she took them, he squeezed her hand discreetly. "Put these on if you get cold."

"Okay."

Old Tie was already hollering impatiently. The guys razzed Peter for a bit before the game finally began.

Evelyn had never experienced anything like this.

Watching the figures darting across the court, she found it oddly refreshing.

Then a ponytailed girl sat beside her. "Here to watch your boyfriend play, senior?"

Evelyn smiled and nodded.

"Here, take this."

The girl thrust a megaphone into her hands without waiting for a response.
