Chapter 192
Evelyn's vision darkened as Alexander's towering figure suddenly blocked her view.
A sickening crack echoed from the pool table, followed by Andy's agonized scream.
"Let him go." Alexander's voice was glacial.
Andy gasped in pain. "Bro-in-law...I was wrong..."
"I told you not to call me that."
"Ah—Annabelle! Help me!"
Annabelle stamped her foot anxiously. "Alexander, please release him—"
He turned sharply, his piercing glare silencing her. "One more word, and you're next."
She immediately clammed up, eyes welling with tears.
"Evelyn," Alexander said without looking back, "take your sister and leave."
Evelyn rushed forward and yanked the limp Emily from her chair. "Wake up!"
Emily blinked drowsily, giggling. "Sis...this wine...so good..."
"You idiot!" Evelyn wanted to shake her, but Emily slumped like a ragdoll.
"Evelyn!" Peter's voice came from the doorway.
She exhaled in relief. "Peter!"
He hurried over, frowning at Emily's state. "How did she get this drunk?"
"She overdid it on her first try. Completely out of it."
Without hesitation, Peter shrugged off his suit jacket. "Hold this."
He scooped Emily up bridal-style, nearly straining his back. "Whoa, she's heavier than she looks."
Evelyn draped the jacket over her sister. "Should we get a server to help?"
Peter winked. "Relax, I can handle carrying your sister."
She gave him an exasperated look. "This isn't the time for jokes."
"You're too tense," he murmured. "I've got you. Don't worry."
Evelyn shook her head. "We can't go home. Mom and Dad would kill her if they saw this."
"Then my place," Peter offered. "Company dorm. It's empty."
"But—"
"No arguments. I won't feel safe with you two at a hotel."
As Evelyn hesitated, Alexander's icy voice cut in. "Mr. Harrison."
Peter finally noticed him and nodded apologetically. "Mr. Hamilton. Pardon my haste."
His gaze flickered to Annabelle standing nearby. With deliberate emphasis, he added, "Ah, Mrs. Hamilton. How...devoted you both look."
