Chapter 145

Olivia Lightfoot stomped her foot anxiously. "Dr. Carter once saved Grandma Hamilton's life. The old lady has always trusted her..."

"I am Dr. Carter."

Olivia shook her head frantically. "Dr. Carter, please don't—"

Evelyn Carter yanked Olivia behind her. Gregory Wilson stepped forward instinctively, shielding Olivia completely.

Andy Taylor exploded with rage. "So it's you! You look decent, but how could you do something so shameless?!"

He swung his fist toward her.

"Andy, stop—"

The middle-aged couple's protests couldn't restrain his fury.

The punch whistled through the air.

"Watch out!"

"Evelyn!"

Everyone held their breath. Gregory tensed, ready to intervene—but the fist froze just an inch from Evelyn's nose.

Andy gaped in shock. "You... you're not scared?"

"Go ahead."

His face flushed crimson. "You think I won't?!"

He swung again, but his arm seemed held back by an invisible force.

Evelyn didn't even blink.

Andy seethed with humiliation. "You must've set a trap! Are you recording this? Or planning to extort me? Oh, I get it—you're a doctor. You could fake a severe injury report and—"

"If I wanted money, wouldn't Alexander Hamilton be an easier target?"

Andy whirled toward the couple. "Aunt, Uncle, you heard that! She's after money!"

"If money was the goal, your sister wouldn't even have gotten past the Hamiltons' doorstep."

Andy jumped in fury. "Mr. Hamilton only saw you as my sister's replacement! Now that she's back, why won't you disappear? You're just jealous she could bear his child!"

Olivia finally snapped. "Please! Whose child it really is—don't you know?"

Andy paled. "How dare you! My aunt has heart problems. If she gets upset—"

"Then who's spreading lies here?"

"Andy..." The middle-aged woman trembled. "Annabelle's baby... isn't Alexander's?"

"Of course it's Mr. Hamilton's—"

The elevator dinged open.

Alexander Hamilton strode forward, his voice icy. "That child has nothing to do with me."
