Chapter 130

Alexander Hamilton had chosen a secluded spot. His Cayenne was wedged into a narrow alley, barely leaving five centimeters of clearance on either side.

Evelyn Carter stood at the alley entrance, scanning the area until a short honk caught her attention.

"Your parking skills..." She couldn't help but remark as she approached.

The massive SUV fit perfectly into the cramped space, its sides nearly brushing the walls.

"No surveillance here," Alexander explained.

Evelyn arched a brow. "Does Annabelle check security footage now?"

"Who knows?" He leaned back wearily. "I feel like a fugitive these days."

She chuckled. "Isn't this what you wanted?"

"You think this is ideal?"

"You got exactly what you asked for."

Used to her sarcasm, he cut to the chase. "What do you need from me?"

"It's about Natalie Stapleton."

After hearing Evelyn's account, Alexander frowned. "This is the 21st century. How can people still cling to such archaic beliefs?"

"Natalie's too soft, and Mrs. Stapleton is domineering."

"What's your take?"

Evelyn was blunt. "I advised terminating the pregnancy. Simon's character and his mother's behavior will only make Natalie's life worse—"

"I disagree." Alexander interrupted. "That child has the right to be born."

Silence fell between them.

Evelyn said quietly, "I'm unfit to be a mother."

"That's not what I meant." He rubbed his temples irritably. "Let's change the subject."

"Natalie wants to keep the baby. She's been begging me."

"You agreed?"

"The final decision isn't mine."

Alexander nodded. "Understood. I'll handle this."

Evelyn blinked. "You know what I'm asking?"

"Dealing with Simon, right?" He sounded confident. "If he insists on keeping the baby, his mother can't force Natalie to go to Hong Kong."

Evelyn exhaled in relief.

"One more thing." She met his gaze squarely. "Annabelle helped Mrs. Stapleton pressure me into performing a gender test on Natalie today."

Alexander's expression darkened. "You didn't—"

"I threw liquid at her."

He visibly relaxed. "Good. She deserved that."

"It wasn't water... It was urine."

His face froze. Shock, disgust, and confusion flickered across his features.

"Want to avenge her?" Evelyn squared her shoulders. "I'm ready."

Alexander suddenly laughed. "With what ammunition? My bladder's currently empty."

"You're not angry?"

He opened the car door. "No wonder she kept calling this morning..."

"She told you?"

"I was in meetings. Didn't answer."

"Then she must be furious now."

Alexander lowered his lashes, his voice turning icy. "Let her stay furious."
