Chapter 109
"Evelyn..."
Natalie's weak voice came from the backseat.
Evelyn turned to see Natalie's hands covered in blood, her face as pale as paper. "I... think the baby..."
Evelyn's heart plummeted.
The passenger door suddenly swung open, and Annabelle slid in with a smirk. "Alexander, drive the bride to the hospital."
Natalie trembled as she clutched Evelyn's hand. "Evelyn, please... save my baby..."
Evelyn squeezed her icy fingers, dread coiling in her chest.
"Natalie, lie down. I'll take another car and follow."
"Don't go..." Natalie clung to her desperately. "I'm scared..."
Annabelle scoffed from the front. "Stop pretending. Just admit you want to be alone with Alexander."
"Not everyone is as obsessed with romance as you, Annabelle."
"Then let go of her!" Annabelle snapped. "Alexander, drive!"
"Get out."
Annabelle whirled around. "What did you say?"
"I said, get out." Alexander's voice was glacial. "Have you forgotten how you delayed my mother's emergency treatment last time?"
Annabelle gritted her teeth. "That wasn't my fault! If Evelyn hadn't—"
Alexander shoved her door open. "I won't repeat myself."
"Alexander Hamilton!"
"Emily." His tone was steel.
Emily stepped forward immediately. "Miss Taylor, please exit the vehicle."
"No!" Annabelle clawed at the door. "Evelyn, you won't get away with this!"
"Evelyn..." Natalie's moans grew fainter, crimson blooming across her white wedding gown.
Evelyn made a split-second decision and moved to the driver's side. "Alexander, let me drive."
"You know how?"
"Now!"
Alexander swiftly switched seats.
Evelyn buckled in and slammed the accelerator. The car shot forward like an arrow.
Annabelle shrieked from behind, "Evelyn, have you lost your mind? That's my fiancé's car!"
"Say whatever you want." Evelyn kept her eyes on the road. "Go ahead and sue me."
"You—"
"One more word, and I'll call off the divorce." Evelyn smirked. "Let's see who lasts longer."
