Chapter 460

Nathan's piercing gaze darkened with dangerous intensity. "At my father's birthday gala that night, Alexander personally told me he intended to confess his feelings to Evelyn."

His jaw clenched as he forced out the next words. "And I heard it myself—Evelyn accepted his confession."

Theodore immediately shook his head. "That can't be right! You and Evelyn were still married then. Anyone with eyes could see she was in love with you! Why would she accept Alexander's confession? And if they're really together, why is Evelyn going on blind dates now? There must be some mistake," he insisted, his expression grave as he tried to make sense of the situation.

Nathan let out a bitter laugh, his eyes like shards of ice. "A mistake? What kind of mistake could possibly explain this? I heard Evelyn's response with my own ears!"

Theodore opened his mouth to argue but ultimately remained silent. This was something he'd have to verify with Alexander directly.

Changing the subject quickly, they continued their conversation until the drinks were finished. As they left the private room and descended to the parking lot, Theodore suddenly spotted a familiar vehicle.

"Wait—isn't that Alexander's car? He—" Theodore's words cut off abruptly as his eyes widened.

Following his gaze, Nathan's expression instantly darkened.

Inside the car, Alexander was gently kissing the cheek of the woman beside him in the passenger seat. Her eyes were closed, clearly intoxicated.

The woman was none other than Alexander's adopted sister—Isabelle Whitmore.

Nathan's entire demeanor turned glacial, the air around him dropping several degrees. Even Theodore shivered beside him.

Nathan's sharp, cold stare fixed on Alexander through the car window. Sensing the impending explosion, Theodore braced himself, certain Nathan would lash out.

Perhaps feeling the weight of that lethal gaze, Alexander suddenly turned and noticed them standing nearby. His face froze when he realized they'd witnessed everything.
