Chapter 21

At the Grant family estate, Evelyn had arranged for a private driver to take her to the grand mansion earlier that day. Once the car pulled up to the entrance, the driver departed swiftly.

As Evelyn stepped out, her eyes immediately landed on a sleek silver Aston Martin parked directly across from her.

The door swung open.

Nathan emerged from the driver’s seat, his presence commanding as always.

The moment Evelyn spotted him, she turned her gaze away and strode toward the mansion without hesitation.

"Stop." Nathan's voice cut through the air, sharp and unyielding.

Evelyn paused mid-step but didn’t turn around.

Nathan closed the distance between them in a few long strides, his piercing gaze sweeping over her with an intensity that was impossible to decipher.

His voice dropped to a dangerously smooth murmur. "Evelyn, let me remind you—until the divorce is finalized, every move you make, every word you speak, reflects on the Grant name."

He emphasized the word move.

Evelyn whirled around to face him, her lips curling into a mocking smile. "And what, exactly, is wrong with how I move, Mr. Grant? Or are you so old-fashioned that a woman walking with confidence offends you?"

Her eyes flashed with defiance as she continued, "Since we’ll be going our separate ways soon, I’d appreciate it if you stayed out of my business. Let’s keep our lives separate, shall we?"

Without waiting for a response, she turned on her heel and marched into the mansion, leaving Nathan standing there, his jaw clenched in frustration.

Evelyn had clearly grown bolder in the last three years.

Leonard brightened when he saw Nathan and Evelyn arriving together.

Margaret, however, frowned slightly at Evelyn’s choice of attire but ultimately held her tongue.

Evelyn turned to Leonard with concern. "Leonard, how are you feeling? Is your health holding up?"

"As long as I avoid stress and stay calm, I’m perfectly fine," Leonard assured her with a gentle smile.

A crease formed between Evelyn’s brows.

Nathan spoke up, his tone clipped. "Why did you call us here, Father?"

Leonard’s smile widened. "Starting tonight, both of you will be moving back into the estate."

Evelyn and Nathan reacted in unison, their voices sharp with disbelief. "What?"

Their synchronized shock was almost comical.

Nathan shot Evelyn a sideways glance, suspicion flickering in his eyes. Had she somehow influenced Leonard’s decision?
