Chapter 209

"Oh my God! Evelyn actually did it! Despite all the interruptions during the procedure, she completed the surgery successfully—all by herself!"

Evelyn was still finishing up the final steps of the operation, but the auditorium had already erupted into cheers and excited gasps. The atmosphere was electric, buzzing with disbelief and admiration.

A few seconds later, the words "Surgery Successful" flashed across Evelyn’s screen.

"No… That’s impossible! How?!" Dylan Reeves shot up from his seat, his face twisted in shock. Beside him, Serena Cole looked equally stunned. Neither had expected Evelyn to pull this off.

And they weren’t the only ones struggling to process what had just happened. Dominic Pierce and Lila Sinclair sat frozen in their seats. Dominic’s expression darkened like a brewing storm, while Lila’s face turned ghostly pale.

Lila’s mind raced. Evelyn actually succeeded? How?!

Now, she was going to lose everything. Grand Hills General Hospital would never hire her again. The realization hit her like a tidal wave, drowning her in despair. How could Evelyn have done it?

This was an incredibly delicate and complex surgery! How had Evelyn managed it alone?

Before long, all eyes turned toward Sebastian Holloway, seated at the center of the front row. He stood slowly, a folder in hand, and made his way to the stage.

Standing behind the podium, he pulled out several sheets of paper and spoke into the microphone.

"These are admission test results. When I recruited Evelyn to join this hospital, I sought approval from our director, Mr. Reginald Vaughn, to have her take the test early. It was agreed that her score would determine whether she would be accepted as a staff member. The test was administered in front of myself, Mr. Vaughn, and several hospital shareholders. Her score was determined on the spot."

He paused, letting the weight of his words settle.

"I’m sure many of you are curious about her results. Elena, please come up and announce them."

"Yes, Mr. Holloway." A female doctor named Elena Vasquez stood and hurried to the stage. When she took the papers from Sebastian, her eyes immediately darted to the score written on the first page.

Her breath hitched.

This can’t be real.

Evelyn had—

"Elena, snap out of it! What did she score?"

Jolted by the impatient murmurs from the crowd, Elena swallowed hard.

"A perfect score. Evelyn… She didn’t make a single mistake."

Silence.

Then—

"A perfect score? Are you kidding me?"

The whispers exploded into a frenzy.
