Chapter 458
Evelyn is extraordinary.
The Caldwell family has already started arranging blind dates for her, so I thought, why not introduce her to your son? Sebastian is an outstanding young man.
If you agree, I'll arrange for Sebastian and Evelyn to meet.
If you're uncomfortable with the idea, we can simply pretend this conversation never happened."
There was a long pause on Reginald's end before he sighed deeply. "You truly care for your former daughter-in-law, don't you? I've never heard of anyone playing matchmaker for their ex-daughter-in-law before."
"I believe this is a wonderful opportunity," Leonard replied smoothly. "Evelyn deserves the best. My son doesn't."
Reginald hesitated before responding, "Let me think about it. I'll get back to you soon."
"Very well." Leonard ended the call and set his phone down.
The moment he did, Nathan's furious voice erupted in the car. "Father, have you lost your mind? You're trying to set Evelyn up with someone? Why?"
Leonard turned to face Nathan, his expression unreadable. "You and Evelyn are divorced. Why shouldn't I?"
"But this—it's absurd! She was your daughter-in-law!" Nathan ground out between clenched teeth.
"And now she's not. Consider it a new experience, courtesy of your father," Leonard shot back without hesitation.
Nathan fell silent, his jaw tightening.
He took a slow, controlled breath and said nothing more, restarting the car with a sharp turn of the key.
The rest of the drive passed in suffocating silence.
Nathan's anger was palpable, his presence icy and oppressive.
In the back seat, Leonard watched him with quiet amusement, a faint smirk playing at his lips.
So now Nathan was angry? He couldn't accept this?
Good.
Where had this fury been when it actually mattered? Now, it was far too late.
When they arrived at the Grant residence, Nathan didn't even step out of the car.
The moment Leonard closed the door behind him, Nathan sped off without a word.
Watching the car disappear down the driveway, Leonard scoffed.
Leaning on his cane, he made his way inside.
Meanwhile, at the exclusive private room in Nathan's club,
Theodore choked on his drink, coughing violently as he processed Nathan's words.
