Chapter 367

Back in the hospital bed, Serena turned to Dylan and Nathan with weary eyes. "Dylan, Nathan, you should both go now. I'll be alright."

Dylan's brow furrowed. "Leave? So you can start that obsessive scrubbing the moment we're gone?"

Serena hesitated, her fingers twisting the bedsheet.

"I'm staying," Dylan declared firmly. "Just try to rest."

Serena's gaze flickered to Nathan, a silent plea in her eyes.

"Sleep," Nathan commanded in that deep, unreadable voice of his.

Biting her lip, Serena finally closed her eyes without another word.

Midnight came and went.

When Nathan rose from the sofa, Dylan looked up in surprise. "I'm heading out," Nathan announced.

Dylan opened his mouth to protest when—

"NO! Don't touch me—" Serena's terrified scream sliced through the quiet room.

Both men rushed to her bedside.

Serena thrashed violently, sweat glistening on her pale face. Her hands clawed at invisible attackers as she whimpered, "Nathan...Nathan, help me!"

"Serena! Wake up!" Dylan shook her shoulders gently.

With a gasp, Serena jolted upright, her chest heaving. Her wide, haunted eyes darted around the room.

"It was just a nightmare," Dylan soothed. "You're safe here. Nothing will hurt you."

But Serena's shattered gaze found Nathan instead. "Nathan..." Her voice cracked like broken glass.

"It's over," Nathan said coolly, making no move to comfort her.

Serena wrapped her arms around herself, curling into a trembling ball as silent tears fell.

Nathan felt the sharp sting of guilt. This broken woman before him was collateral damage in his war.
