Chapter 330

Evelyn wanted to slip away to the bathroom without disturbing Nathan's sleep.

Her bare feet had barely touched the plush carpet when—"Going somewhere?" A sleep-roughened baritone vibrated through the dim bedroom.

Her entire body went rigid.

Fingers clutching the silk sheets like a lifeline, she pulled them higher around her bare shoulders without turning around.

"Let me guess," Nathan's voice dripped with lazy amusement, the kind that made heat pool low in Evelyn's belly. "Planning to sneak out after what happened last night?"

Her lips parted in silent outrage.

She was the one who should be making accusations here! How dare he twist things like that?

But the words died in her throat when she finally dared to glance over her shoulder.

Nathan had propped himself up against the headboard, the morning light painting golden streaks across his sculpted torso. The sheet barely covered his hips, revealing the faint red scratches she'd left on his skin.

Her face burned.

Oh God.

Had she really been that...enthusiastic?

"Cat got your tongue?" Nathan's smirk deepened as he leaned closer. "Or should I say, the alcohol? Convenient excuse, isn't it?"

Evelyn's mouth went dry.
