Chapter 322
Evelyn forced a weak smile, giving a slight nod of agreement.
Cassandra raised her glass again, her enthusiasm contagious. "Let's go wild tonight! We're not stopping until we drop!"
Evelyn chuckled softly and took another sip.
Cassandra kept finding excuses to refill Evelyn's glass.
Something felt off tonight - Evelyn's alcohol tolerance seemed nonexistent. After just a few drinks, the room started spinning.
A faint alarm bell rang in her mind, but before she could react, her body betrayed her.
She collapsed onto the couch, unconscious...
Seeing this, Cassandra set down her wine glass and called out, "Evelyn? Hey, are you okay? Did you pass out? Come on, wake up! The party's just starting!" She leaned over and shook Evelyn several times.
No response.
Cassandra glanced up at Julian, their eyes meeting. A triumphant smirk flashed between them.
"Now's our chance," Cassandra said, her previously cheerful demeanor replaced by cold calculation.
Julian nodded. "Let's move."
He stepped forward, bending to scoop Evelyn into his arms.
Just as his fingers brushed her wrist...
"Back off!" Evelyn suddenly sprang up from the couch, her bloodshot eyes blazing with fury.
Julian froze momentarily before forcing a charming smile. "Ms. Hartley, you're clearly intoxicated. Allow me to escort you home." He reached for her again.
With a sharp crack, Evelyn slapped his hand away and staggered to her feet. "Who...who says I'm drunk? I'm stone cold sober! Now watch this!" She suddenly broke into song, "We will, we will rock you..."
Julian stood dumbstruck.
Cassandra gaped at Evelyn in confusion.
"What the hell?" Julian muttered under his breath.
"No idea!" Cassandra shook her head. After a pause, she hissed, "We can't waste time. Stick to the plan!"
Julian sighed and tried again. "Ms. Hartley, you need to go home now," he said firmly.
Before he could react, Evelyn grabbed his arm and flipped him over her shoulder with surprising strength, slamming him onto the floor with a painful thud.
Julian groaned, writhing in pain. "Jesus Christ..."
Cassandra's jaw dropped. "What just happened?" she gasped.
"I can't do this. She's like a damn ninja when she's drunk. You try..." Julian clutched his back as he struggled to stand.
