Chapter 278
Back in his office, Nathan Black's expression remained stormy and unreadable. Dylan Reeves' words echoed in his mind... Had he truly fallen for Evelyn Hartley? The idea of divorcing her now was unthinkable? Preposterous! It wasn't about her—it was about principle. He couldn't tolerate deception, no matter who was involved.
Yet, he couldn't shake the question... Why had Evelyn posted those photos? What was she trying to accomplish?
That evening, at the sprawling Black family estate. Both having worked late, Evelyn and Nathan arrived home almost simultaneously, their cars pulling into the garage one after the other.
Evelyn spotted Nathan's car but deliberately ignored it. She stepped out, slamming her door with deliberate force, and strode toward the house without a backward glance.
Nathan's brow furrowed slightly, but he said nothing as he exited his own car and followed her inside.

Nathan took a seat, his face impassive.

Nathan remained composed as he recounted the events. "Dylan called to inform me Serena had been hospitalized after a head injury. I went to check on her—nothing more."
Leonard's jaw tightened. "And yet, you ended up embracing her? Kissing her?"
Nathan exhaled. "It wasn't like that. When she hugged me, I pulled away immediately. The photo is misleading—it wasn't a kiss."
Evelyn remained silent, her expression unreadable.
Leonard's glare softened slightly, but his voice remained firm. "Nathan, you are married. You must consider Evelyn's feelings in everything you do."
Nathan lowered his gaze, pausing before responding in a quiet, measured tone. "I realize my mistake. It won't happen again."
His last words were directed at Evelyn, but she refused to meet his eyes, her posture rigid with indifference.
Breaking the silence, Margaret suddenly spoke. "Nathan, have you discovered who leaked those photos?"
Evelyn's lips parted slightly, as if she were about to speak. "The photos were—"
