Chapter 262

A crimson streak now adorned Evelyn's lips, adding a feral, irresistible allure to her already mesmerizing beauty.

Evelyn drew in a sharp breath, her gaze icy and unwavering as she spoke with cutting precision. "Nathan! I am not some plaything you can summon at your whim!"

With that final declaration, she turned on her heel and strode away without so much as a backward glance.

Nathan watched her retreat, his expression darkening with a storm of conflicting emotions. He then turned and headed toward the restroom to tend to his wounded lip.

Unseen in the shadows, a figure stirred.

Serena had followed them discreetly after witnessing Evelyn and Nathan heading toward the restroom, an uneasy feeling gnawing at her.

She hadn’t expected to witness that.

Nathan had kissed Evelyn—first.

Why? How?

Consumed by jealousy, Serena’s fingers curled into tight fists as she watched the scene unfold. Her first impulse had been to storm in, to tear them apart—but she restrained herself, painfully aware she had no right to interfere.

All she could do was seethe in silence, her eyes glinting with envy, her breaths shallow and quick with barely contained fury.

After forcing herself to take a steadying breath, Serena turned and slipped back to their table.

Nathan returned moments later.

When Theodore and Dylan spotted the bite mark on Nathan’s lip, their eyes widened in shock.

That kind of mark…

It was unmistakably from a bite.

But who could have bitten Nathan?

Earlier, both Evelyn and Serena had excused themselves to the restroom, and both had returned visibly agitated.

Theodore and Dylan exchanged baffled glances, unable to deduce who might have left the mark. They held their tongues, however, knowing better than to pry.

Soon after Evelyn returned, she and her companions concluded their meal and prepared to leave the restaurant.

As they departed, Evelyn and Lila pointedly ignored Nathan. Only Alexander made the effort to offer a polite farewell before hurrying after them.

After dinner at The Rooftop, Alexander drove Lila and Evelyn back to Vera Vista.

Choosing not to return to the Black family estate that night, Evelyn decided to stay over at Vera Vista with Lila.
