Chapter 93
"Let go."
Ethan Sullivan didn't move. His dark eyes locked onto her, voice low. "He came to apologize for the Lakeside Resort incident. I didn't see him."
Evelyn Sullivan struggled against his grip. "Whether you see him or not has nothing to do with me. Let go!"
"I was wrong about you. I'm sorry."
His earnest expression made her want to laugh. Since their divorce, he'd apologized more times than in their entire three-year marriage.
"I already said I don't care about that anymore."
A spark of anger flared in his eyes. "Is it that you don't care about the incident—or that you don't care about me at all?"
She wrenched her arm free. "What's the difference? Weren't you the one who told me not to fantasize about you? I listened. What more do you want?"
His knuckles turned white, his expression darkening.
"Stop saying things like that. I'm not interested in playing these games with you."
Evelyn turned and walked away.
In the living room, she massaged her temples in frustration. She needed to heal his legs quickly—only then could this divorce be finalized.
The next morning, Evelyn ran into Alexander King and Lily White outside the MY Fashion Group building.
Gone was their arrogance from the Lakeside Resort. Now, their faces were plastered with insincere apologies.
"Miss Sullivan," Alexander began, tone painfully earnest, "we came to apologize. We misunderstood you that day. We're sorry."
Lily chimed in, "I shouldn't have framed you and then blamed you. Please forgive me."
Evelyn smirked. "Save your apologies. I won't forgive you."
Lily's face stiffened. Just as Isabella had warned—this bitch never knew when to quit!
"Miss Sullivan, I'll do anything you ask! Just tell me how to make it right!"
Evelyn arched a brow. "Anything?"
Lily's stomach twisted, but she forced a nod. Alexander had made it clear—if she didn't apologize properly, he'd break up with her. After scheming so hard to steal him, she couldn't lose him now.
"Fine. Then break up."
Both their expressions changed instantly.
Alexander's face darkened. "Evelyn, don't push it."
"You said anything," she sneered. "If you're just here to put on a show, spare me the disgust."
As she turned to leave, Lily finally dropped the act. "Alexander and I are getting married soon! Tell Sophia Reynolds she'll never steal him back!"
Evelyn glanced over her shoulder with a cold laugh. "Sophia wouldn't want your trash. But you? Proud of being a homewrecker? Pathetic."
"You know nothing! The one who isn't loved is the real homewrecker!" Lily shrieked. "Sophia and you are both losers compared to me and Isabella!"
"Lily!" Alexander snapped.
