Chapter 204
"Ethan Sullivan, what did you just say?"
Both Sean Reynolds and Evelyn Sullivan's expressions darkened.
Ethan's gaze lingered on Evelyn's face before he turned to leave.
A sudden unease gripped Evelyn's heart.
"Mr. Reynolds, I apologize. Something urgent has come up."
Without further explanation, she hurried after him.
In the underground parking lot, Ethan leaned against his car, clearly waiting for her.
"Ethan, explain yourself! What do you mean we're not divorced?"
Without warning, he pulled her close by the waist.
Evelyn tried to struggle, but he gripped her chin firmly.
A furious kiss crashed down on her lips.
She bit him hard, the metallic tang of blood spreading between them.
Instead of pulling away, Ethan deepened the kiss, as if determined to consume her.
She shoved against his chest, but he didn't budge.
Only when she was gasping for air did he finally release her.
"Still trying to provoke me with other men?"
"We're divorced!" Evelyn wiped her mouth. "Who I'm with is none of your business!"
His eyes turned icy.
"Try me."
"What? Does the mighty Mr. Sullivan think he can control his ex-wife's personal life?"
"Any man who dares to touch you," he said darkly, "will wish he were dead."
Evelyn trembled with rage.
"You're insane!"
"If I see you with Sean Reynolds again," Ethan tightened his grip on her chin, "his company will be bankrupt within three days."
She yanked her hand free.
After a moment to collect herself, she forced her voice steady.
"What's going on with the divorce papers?"
"Figure it out yourself." His lips curled into a cold smile. "But for now, stay away from Sean."
"Or what?"
"Or I'll remind you whose name is still on your marriage certificate."
Evelyn turned to leave.
Ethan seized her wrist.
"I'll drive you."
"No need!"
"Either I drive you," his voice dropped low, "or we stay here until dawn."
