Chapter 77

Ethan Sullivan waited until his grandmother disappeared down the hallway before stepping forward.

An icy aura radiated from him, freezing the very air around them.

His slender fingers gripped a pen, pressing down so hard the signature nearly tore through the paper.

"Evelyn Sullivan. Happy now?"

His sharp gaze lifted like a blade.

Evelyn's lips curved as she signed her name with practiced ease.

"Absolutely."

She reached for the agreement, but Ethan snatched it away first.

"Mr. Sullivan?"

"Why should I trust you?" His laugh was cold. "Even Grandmother handed over her shares to you."

Evelyn frowned. "I said I didn't want the 10%."

"Then revise the agreement. Remove the shares clause."

The elder Mrs. Sullivan suddenly spoke. "Either accept the shares and divorce, or we forget this ever happened."

Evelyn's fingers trembled slightly.

"Grandmother..."

"Choose."

After a long silence, Evelyn whispered, "I'll take the shares."

Ethan slammed the door on his way out.

Evelyn moved to follow, but the elder Mrs. Sullivan held her back.

"Don't worry. He won't go back on his word once he's signed."

At dinner, the elder Mrs. Sullivan kept serving Evelyn dishes.

"Come visit me often after this."

The farewell embrace made Evelyn's nose sting with unshed tears.

Night had fallen when she stood before the gates of Grand View Villa.

Ethan opened the door, frost in his eyes.

"You got what you wanted. Why are you here?"
