Chapter 135

"I'm not into women."

"Evelyn, you're so blunt! You're breaking my heart~"

Evelyn Sullivan shuddered, goosebumps rising on her skin.

"Zoe, can you act normal for once?"

A soft cough came through the phone before Zoe Zade finally switched to her natural voice.

"I've been swamped with filming and just saw the news about that supporting actress trying to ride on Eternal Legacy's hype to smear you. Everything handled?"

"Yeah. Did you call just for that?"

"I care about you! You're so cold—my heart's freezing over."

Evelyn: "......Save the acting for your movies."

"Fine, I'll stop teasing. When are you free for dinner?"

"Your schedule's packed. Whenever works for you."

"Tomorrow night then! I'll have my agent book a place."

"Sure."

"Got another scene to shoot. Talk later!"

Zoe hung up and turned to her agent. "Red, reserve a private VIP room for tomorrow. Dinner with Evelyn."

Red nodded. "Consider it done."

The next evening, Evelyn texted Ethan Sullivan that she wouldn't be home for dinner and drove to the restaurant.

The moment she pushed open the private room's door, a fragrant figure lunged at her, planting two kisses on her cheeks.

"Evelyn darling, I missed you so much!"

Evelyn: "......"

Zoe's over-the-top affection hadn't changed.

"Let go first..."

Zoe pecked her cheek once more before releasing her.

"You didn't miss me at all?!"

"Nope."

"Ugh, you wound me!"

Evelyn nearly dropped the menu. "Keep talking like that and I'll throw you out."

"Alright, alright~"

After ordering, Zoe brought up Lily White.

"If I'd seen the news sooner, I wouldn’t have let the director fire her. I play her senior in the movie—perfect chance to take care of her for you!"

Watching Zoe crack her knuckles, Evelyn chuckled.

"It's over. You're an award-winning actress now. Bullying a newcomer would look bad."

Zoe raised a brow. "Since when can’t an award-winner defend her best friend?"

"We won’t cross paths again anyway."

"Don’t be so sure. Word is she’s already negotiating with agencies."

Evelyn was surprised Lily was serious about entering the industry.

"Let’s not ruin the mood. We barely get to meet."

"True. Next week we’re shooting on location—won’t see you for ages."

"Work comes first."

Zoe leaned in, mischief glinting in her peach-blossom eyes.

"How about you sponsor me? Then I could stick around forever! I cook, I give massages—you’ll regret passing me up!"
