Chapter 251

"I will never sign this contract!"

Simon Reynolds slammed the document onto the desk, his face dark with fury.

Evelyn Sullivan remained unfazed, her fingers lightly tapping the table.

"Then you may go home and reconsider, Mr. Reynolds. Return only when you're ready to compensate the company for its losses."

"Evelyn Sullivan!" He shot up from his seat, slamming his palms on the desk. "Do you really think I'm afraid of you?"

She lifted her gaze, a cold smirk playing on her lips.

"Of course not. If you disagree with my decision, we can settle this in court."

The office fell into heavy silence.

Simon's face twisted with rage before he finally spat through clenched teeth, "You'll regret this!"

The door slammed shut with enough force to rattle the glass.

Evelyn didn't even blink, calmly turning the page of the file in her hands.

By evening, Ethan Sullivan's call came through.

"Grandmother knows about the divorce. Come to Harmony Manor tonight."

Her fingers tightened around the phone. "Alright."

Under the night sky, Harmony Manor glowed with warm lights.

Evelyn hadn't expected to see Margaret and Henry Sullivan in the living room. Absent during their wedding, they'd made sure to appear for the divorce.

Adrian Sullivan sat quietly beside the elderly matriarch, detached from the scene.

"My dear, is it really..." The old woman's voice trembled.

Evelyn gave a slight nod. "Yes."

"It's Ethan's loss..." The grandmother sighed deeply.

Margaret suddenly sneered. "Good riddance! Ethan deserves better. Isabella Jackson would be perfect—she just won the national design competition—"

"Mother!" Ethan's voice cut sharply through the air. "Stay out of my affairs!"

"If you weren't my son, I wouldn't bother!" Margaret trembled with anger.

"I've said it before—there will never be anything between Isabella and me."

"Are you trying to kill me with this stubbornness?!"

The elderly woman struck the armrest with force. "Enough! This is between them. You have no say!"

Margaret clenched her jaw, her expression sour.

The truth had been clear to the grandmother since that incident at the resort—when Ethan chose Isabella over Evelyn, the marriage was already doomed.

"What's done is done. I won't dwell on it." The matriarch scanned the room. "I called you here for another matter."

Margaret tensed.

"Now that Adrian has returned, it's time he joined Sullivan Group to gain experience."

"Absolutely not!" Margaret shot to her feet.

The old woman's gaze turned razor-sharp. "This isn't a request."

"Ethan has always managed Sullivan Group. Throwing Adrian into the mix will only unsettle the shareholders!"

"Adrian has every right to his share!" The grandmother's voice rose sharply.

If not for that accident years ago...

She turned to Ethan. "What do you think?"
