Chapter 75

Evelyn Sullivan glared at him coldly. "So?"

"I'm sleeping here tonight."

She nearly laughed out loud. How could this man sound so entitled when their relationship was already so strained?

"Fine. I'll take another room."

She grabbed her coat and turned to leave. Ethan Sullivan seized her wrist. "Evelyn, don't push me."

"Your limits mean nothing to me."

The door had barely cracked open when his hand slammed it shut. The world spun as he lifted her off her feet.

"Ethan! Have you lost your mind?"

Ignoring her, he tossed her onto the bed and pinned her against his chest with one arm.

"Sleep."

He actually closed his eyes. Evelyn trembled with rage. "Let go!"

As she struggled, she felt the muscles in his arm tense. She looked up to meet his dark, smoldering gaze.

"You're despicable."

"Don't want to sleep?" His Adam's apple bobbed. "We could do something else."

The hunger in his eyes froze her in place.

Morning light filtered through the curtains. Evelyn realized she'd spent the night pillowed on his arm. She shoved him hard. "Get off!"

Ethan tightened his hold, his voice rough. "Stay a little longer."

"You can stay here till you rot!"

This time, he didn't stop her. By the time she finished freshening up, he was buttoning his dress shirt.

"Breakfast together."

Her response was the sharp snap of her suitcase closing. The moment he stepped into the bathroom, she grabbed her purse and bolted.

At the elevator, she collided with Isabella Jackson's pale face.

"You think you've won?" Isabella's nails dug into her palms. "Ethan only loves me!"

Evelyn didn't even spare her a glance.

Back at her villa, she'd just ordered takeout when the doorbell rang. Ethan stood outside, impeccably dressed in his suit, eyes stormy.

"Persistent bastard!" She slammed the door.

His hand shot out to block it. "Come home with me."

"I'm calling the police."

"Good." His lips curled into a cold smile. "Let them see what it means for a married woman to live in another man's house."
