Chapter 268

Ethan Sullivan's eyes turned icy. "What do you mean by that?"

Evelyn Sullivan's lips curled into a cold smile. "Am I wrong? Isabella couldn't have intercepted all my clients without your approval."

"Is that really how you see me?"

"Trust between us died long ago."

She turned and walked toward the street, her back rigid with resolve.

Thirty minutes later, Sophia Reynolds' red sports car pulled up in front of her.

"Get in." Sophia opened the passenger door. "It's worse than we thought."

Evelyn fastened her seatbelt. "Cut to the chase."

"Every potential client signed with Isabella." Sophia's grip tightened on the steering wheel. "And there's more... Brocade has been transferred to her name."

Evelyn's nails dug into her palms.

That dinner had been nothing but a trap.

"Ethan is ruthless." Sophia gritted her teeth. "If you hadn't returned when you did, MY Fashion Group would belong to Isabella by now."

"Take me home first." Evelyn closed her eyes briefly. "We'll rebuild our client base."

Sophia shot her a worried glance. "Do you want me to stay with you?"

"No."

As Evelyn stepped out of the car at her villa, she spotted Ethan waiting at the entrance.

"We need to talk." He blocked her path.

Evelyn unlocked the door without expression. "Come in."

Her detached demeanor stung him. "It's not what you think."

"Then what is it?" She turned to face him. "When your plan to acquire MY failed, you gave her Brocade as consolation?"

Ethan's pupils constricted. "You knew?"

"Does it matter?" She laughed lightly. "The show's over. Time to drop the act."

"If this was just an act, why would I go to Qingcheng to find you?!"

Her hand rested on the doorknob. "I've had enough of your games, Mr. Sullivan."

Ethan slammed his palm against the door. "I'll get to the bottom of this."

"Don't bother."

As the door clicked shut, she heard the sound of her own heart shattering.
