Chapter 265

Evelyn Sullivan strode briskly from White Harbor with Sophia Reynolds in tow, the night breeze cooling her flushed cheeks.

"Evelyn, you were amazing back there!" Sophia clapped excitedly. "Did you see Vincent's face? He looked ready to explode!"

Evelyn pressed her lips together. "I refuse to be played for a fool."

Under the dim parking lot lights, her slender frame seemed especially fragile.

"Evelyn!"

Ethan Sullivan's commanding voice cut through the night.

Before she could react, his iron grip clamped around her wrist.

"Let go." Her voice was ice.

His knuckles whitened. "Don't you want to know why Isabella was there?"

"Not my concern."

She tried to wrench free, but he swept her off her feet.

"Ethan!" Evelyn trembled with fury.

Sophia tactfully stepped aside as Ethan shoved Evelyn into his Maybach.

The doors locked with a decisive click.

"Have you lost your mind?" Evelyn clenched the seatbelt.

Ethan slammed the accelerator. "Yes. For you."

The luxury car tore through the night, the atmosphere inside suffocating.

Watching the city blur past, Evelyn spoke suddenly: "We should end this."

The wheel jerked.

"Reason." Ethan's voice could freeze hell.

"You're dangerous." She met his gaze. "I wanted a fleeting affair. You built a cage."

Tires screeched.

As the car halted before his villa, Ethan seized her chin.

"You don't get to decide."

His punishing kiss tasted like possession and retribution. Evelyn shoved against him, but he cradled her head, deepening the contact until blood flavored their clash of wills.
