Chapter 247
"She's not feeling well today. She's resting upstairs."
Fiona Ferguson's gaze locked onto the signature in Mrs. Wang's hand, her pupils contracting sharply.
"Is... is this Elia's autograph?!"
She had once begged her father for Elia's signature, only to be sternly forbidden from approaching the renowned designer. Now, seeing the coveted signature right before her eyes, Fiona's fingers trembled slightly.
Mrs. Wang smiled and handed it over. "Saves me a trip to deliver it to you."
"Oh my God! Mrs. Wang, how did you get this?"
"Isabella Jackson helped me obtain it." Mrs. Wang gestured toward Isabella.
Fiona immediately turned to Isabella, her eyes shining with admiration. "Thank you so much! And congratulations on winning the championship!"
Isabella inclined her head gracefully. "You were brilliant too. Third place is impressive."
Fiona's demeanor warmed instantly. "My father told me to learn from you!"
"We can learn from each other." Isabella's lips curved slightly, her gaze flickering.
Fiona suddenly leaned in, lowering her voice. "How do you know Elia? She's my idol!"
"At a design exhibition abroad." Isabella's fingers absently traced the rim of her champagne flute. "I didn't expect her to be a judge for this competition."
"Will she be here tonight?" Fiona couldn't hide her eagerness.
Isabella shook her head. "Her schedule is packed."
"Then... do you have any photos of her?" Fiona pressed.
"She doesn't like being photographed." Isabella averted her eyes.
Mrs. Wang interjected, "People our age aren't fond of taking pictures."
Fiona froze.
"Your age?"
She distinctly remembered the youthful figure she'd glimpsed earlier.
Isabella's glass wobbled suddenly, champagne nearly spilling.
"Of course. We met after the competition today." Her voice was strained.
Fiona's eyes turned icy.
"You're lying!"
Nearby guests turned to look.
Mrs. Wang quickly grabbed her arm. "Fiona!"
Fiona shook her off, her voice ringing clearly across the banquet hall. "I've seen Elia. She's definitely not older than twenty-five!"
