Chapter 195

Evelyn Sullivan remained silent.

Was he blaming her for losing control?

"Don't let it happen again."

She efficiently bandaged his wound, her tone distant. "Thank you for saving me today. I'll treat you to dinner another time."

Ethan Sullivan glanced at his freshly bandaged arm, smirking. "One meal to appease an injured man?"

"What do you want, then?"

"My injury affects my work. You're responsible."

Evelyn considered briefly. "Fine. How much compensation?"

His expression darkened. "You think I need money?"

"Isn't lost income the issue?"

Seeing her serious face, Ethan said coldly, "I don't want money. Move into Grand View and take care of me until I recover."

"Impossible." Her refusal was firm. "I'll hire you the best nurse."

"Evelyn!"

She met his gaze directly. "Mr. Sullivan, we ended long ago. I want us both to move on. Please don't disturb me again."

Her words carried deliberate weight.

Ethan's eyes turned stormy. "Move on?"

"Yes."

Just as she was about to mention her new relationship, her phone rang.

Seeing "Grandma" on the screen, Evelyn remembered her promise to Mrs. Sullivan.

"Grandma, I'm so sorry. I'll be right there," she answered apologetically.

Mrs. Sullivan's voice was warm. "No rush, dear. Be safe."

Hanging up, Evelyn turned to Ethan. "Grandma invited me to Harmony Manor for dinner. Are you coming?"

"Mm."

In the car, Ethan asked casually, "Have you met Anna, MY's founder?"

Evelyn's fingers twitched, but her expression stayed neutral. "I'm just an employee. Why the sudden interest?"

"Impressive how she traced that plagiarism case to Brocade."

"Very impressive." She lowered her eyes.

"Aren't you curious about your boss?"

She looked up. "What are you really asking, Mr. Sullivan?"

"Just making conversation."

"I focus on my work. That's enough."

Ethan's gaze darkened, but he pressed no further.

Silence lingered until Harmony Manor. As they exited the car, Ethan suddenly gripped her hand.

"Let go." She pulled away instantly.

He whispered near her ear, "Want Grandma to find out we're divorced?"

Evelyn scoffed. "We never held hands before. This is what's suspicious."
