Chapter 180

Victoria Farley's chest heaved with rage, her nails digging deep into her palms.

"Look at what you've become! Corrupted by these lowlifes!"

Evelyn Sullivan leaned against the doorframe, her gaze icy.

"What I become is none of your concern."

Victoria sneered, the wrinkles at her eyes twisting with malice.

"If you hadn't caused Sullivan Group to withdraw their investment, do you think we'd bother coming here?!"

Evelyn pulled out her phone and dialed Ethan Sullivan's number.

The moment the call connected, his deep voice came through. "Evelyn?"

"Impressive move, Mr. Sullivan." Evelyn's lips curled in mockery. "Cutting ties with Jackson Corporation just to force me to see you?"

Three seconds of silence.

"Where are you? I'll come now."

"Don't bother." Her words were sharp and deliberate. "Stop using my family to harass me. We're done."

She hung up and turned to Victoria and William, who stood stunned.

Victoria's face paled, her trembling finger pointing accusingly.

"Have you lost your mind?! How dare you speak to Mr. Sullivan like that! Apologize now!"

Evelyn scoffed and slammed the door shut.

The loud bang made Victoria stagger back, nearly falling.

"You ungrateful brat!" Victoria shrieked, pounding on the door.

William stood silently, his mind drifting to the gentle woman from twenty years ago.

When had she become this shrill, calculating shrew?

Perhaps when he first glimpsed the scheming beneath her sweet facade.

Exhausted from yelling, Victoria turned and caught William's conflicted expression. "What are you staring at?"

Before he could answer, the roar of an engine approached.

A black Maybach rolled to a stop. Isabella Jackson fluttered toward it like a butterfly.

"Ethan!"

He strode past her without a glance, stopping at the villa's entrance.

"Evelyn, open the door."

Her cold voice sliced through the wood. "Get lost."

Isabella bit her lip, her nails sinking into her flesh.
