Chapter 134

"Mom, don't go looking for her." Victoria Farley's youngest daughter whispered. "You publicly cut ties with her at the press conference. She must still be furious. I'll handle this myself."

At the mention of that day, Victoria's temper flared. "Let her be! From now on, I'll act like I never had that daughter!"

Night deepened as Evelyn Sullivan and Ethan Sullivan returned to their villa.

She removed the necklace from her neck and handed it to him. "Thank you for tonight."

Ethan's expression instantly darkened, his gaze heavy. "You think I'd regift something that's been worn?"

Evelyn considered it. "Then I'll reimburse you."

"Do you have to be so transactional?" His voice rose sharply.

Sensing his anger, she pressed her lips together. "Mr. Sullivan, blurred boundaries help no one."

Since their separation was inevitable, she wanted no lingering ties.

"I'm tired. I'm going to bed." She turned away, her retreating figure resolute.

Back in her room, Evelyn looked up the necklace's price. The auction record stole her breath.

One billion.

For this ridiculous thing?!

She tossed all night, nearly tearing her hair out trying to figure out how to repay the sum.

Had she known the cost, she'd never have worn it.

The next morning, Evelyn descended the stairs with dark circles under her eyes.

Breakfast passed in stiff silence before they left separately.

At the office, she found the lobby overflowing with flowers, surrounded by buzzing chatter.

"Who's the mystery millionaire behind this?"

"This must've cost a fortune!"

"So jealous!"

As Evelyn moved to leave, Sophia Reynolds stormed over.

"Throw every last one out! Reject any future deliveries!"

Evelyn arched a brow. "An admirer?"

Sophia dragged her into the elevator, seething. "Who else but that lunatic Alexander King? Drunk off his ass last night babbling about making amends, then pulls this stunt!"

"He wants you back?"

"In his dreams!" Sophia scoffed. "Now that Lily White dumped him, he's harassing me. What do I look like, his rebound?"

The elevator reached the top floor, and they parted ways.

No sooner had Evelyn sat down than Zoe Zade called.

"A whole week in town without reaching out?"

"With your schedule, I didn't dare interrupt."

Zoe's voice turned playful. "For you, I'm always free. Just waiting for you to take advantage of me."

Evelyn: "..."

If fans saw their icy screen goddess like this, mass unfollowing would ensue.
