Chapter 118

Evelyn's lips curved into a meaningful smile.

"Mr. Sullivan, this is Daniel Sterling's villa. Doesn't it bother you to stay here?"

Ethan's eyes turned icy. Just as Evelyn thought he would storm off, his deep voice cut through the silence.

"If he was willing to lend it to you, I doubt he'd mind an extra guest."

Evelyn clenched her jaw. "I don't want to live under the same roof as you."

"Either prepare a room for me, or come back to Grand View with me." His voice was cold. "Don't forget who put me in this wheelchair."

The air froze for several seconds.

"Fine. I'll go back with you."

She couldn't stand the thought of Ethan staying here, nor did she want any lingering entanglements.

Late that night, they returned to Grand View. Evelyn headed straight for the guest bedroom. Surprisingly, Ethan didn't stop her. Now that she was back, he could afford to be patient.

The next morning, as Evelyn approached the entrance of MY Fashion Group, she spotted Victoria Farley and Isabella Jackson waiting for her.

Victoria lunged forward, hand raised to strike. "Drop the lawsuit immediately! You're humiliating our family!"

Evelyn sidestepped the slap. Victoria trembled with rage. "How dare you dodge?"

"Why wouldn't I?"

"I'm your mother! I have every right to discipline you!"

Isabella quickly chimed in. "Sister, Mom hasn't slept all night because of you. How can you let her beg the White family like this?"

Evelyn smiled faintly. "Lily White slandered me online. Instead of confronting her, you're here pressuring me to withdraw the lawsuit?"

Victoria shrieked. "If you'd done nothing wrong, would she have posted those things?! If you don't drop this lawsuit today, I disown you!"

"You're right. I did make a mistake." Evelyn spoke each word deliberately.

Victoria's face lit with triumph. "Good! It's not too late to apologize!"

"My mistake was returning to the Jackson family at sixteen, believing you actually wanted to make amends." Evelyn's gaze turned glacial. "And worse—thinking there was still hope for us."

Isabella paled. Victoria snapped, "Donating your bone marrow to Isabella was your duty!"

"From now on, I won't step foot in the Jackson home again." Evelyn turned to leave. "Consider me dead to you."

Victoria's voice rose to a hysterical pitch. "I should've strangled you at birth!"
