Chapter 468
The sharp sound of shattering porcelain echoed through the office.
Dylan Lowell and Julian Roscente quickly stepped back as glass shards scattered at their feet.
They exchanged stunned glances.
The bombshell Nathan Evans just dropped was unbelievable.
Ethan Winston would actually sever profitable business ties just to cut Nathan off completely?
Everyone knew they'd had a falling out, but their commercial collaborations never stopped.
Investments continued. Profits flowed.
Business was business. What did personal grudges matter?
If it were them, they'd never jeopardize deals even to pursue a woman.
Especially not a shrewd businessman like Ethan Winston.
This time...
No wonder Nathan called him love-struck. Even Dylan and Julian found it incomprehensible.
Ethan gazed at the shattered remains. "What a waste. You still haven't broken that habit of smashing things. Did you do this to Evelyn Langley too?"
Nathan's temple throbbed. "What are you implying?"
Ethan smirked. "I'm petty. I'm childish. I want a clean break. No grand reasons needed. Just because I feel like it. Got a problem with that?"
"You—"
Nathan's jaw clenched, chest heaving with barely contained fury.
Ethan arched a brow. "What? Can't bear to lose those projects? That money?"
Nathan scoffed. "Spare me the act. Since when does Ethan Winston turn down profits?"
"Of course I love money." Ethan shrugged. "But Evelyn matters more."
Dylan and Julian discreetly rubbed their arms.
That was nauseatingly sweet.
Ethan continued, "Even if I cut you off completely, she might still reject me. So what?"
"My choices are mine. Her decisions are hers. Ideally both work out. But if not, should I just do nothing?"
"That's the difference between us, Nathan. You won't gamble on uncertain outcomes. I'll stake everything."
Nathan narrowed his eyes. "Even knowing you'll lose?"
Ethan smiled. "There are no sure losses. Only cowards who won't try."
"You're insane!"
"Maybe." Ethan chuckled. "But I like it this way."
Nathan ground his teeth. "Pursuing Evelyn doesn't conflict with our partnership."
"It does for me."
Nathan's gaze turned icy. "Don't drag me down with your madness."
"Hence this heads-up. Prepare accordingly."
Nathan laughed bitterly. "You're literally burning money for fun now."
Ethan shrugged. "The sound's nice."
Nathan: "......"
Psycho!
He turned to leave.
Ethan suddenly said, "I visited Evelyn's parents in Linshi recently."
Nathan froze mid-step.
