Chapter 374
Evelyn took a bite of the cookie.
"How is it?" Hannah blinked eagerly, her face full of anticipation.
"Not bad. The sweetness is just right." Evelyn nodded.
"I tried every brand in the supermarket before picking this one!" Hannah turned excitedly to Liam. "Want to try?"
"No." Liam adjusted his glasses. "I'm cutting back on carbs."
Before he finished speaking, Hannah's hand froze mid-air, still holding the cookie.
Evelyn immediately reached out. "Give me another one."
Hannah scooted closer, pouting. "You're the best, Evelyn."
Liam looked baffled.
The entire pack was gone in minutes. Evelyn only had three pieces—the rest disappeared into Hannah's stomach.
Prof. Eleanor returned with their documents. "It's 5:30. Cafeteria?"
...
They chose a private dining room on the fifth floor.
Evelyn flipped through the menu. "Sweet and sour ribs for Hannah, boiled fish for Prof. Eleanor..."
Hannah's eyes sparkled with gratitude.
Liam remained silent throughout, so Evelyn simply ordered stir-fried seasonal vegetables for him.
Once the four dishes and soup arrived, Prof. Eleanor paid with her card.
As they stepped out, they nearly collided with Prof. Beatrice, who was surrounded by five students.
"Prof. Roland," Beatrice smiled brightly. "I heard you're suspending graduate admissions this year?"
Eleanor nodded impassively.
"What a shame." Beatrice's gaze swept over Evelyn's group. "I've taken five new students this year. Audrey, Zachary, Shane, Isabella, Sophia—come say hello."
Hannah suddenly gasped.
"What's wrong?" Evelyn whispered.
