Chapter 152

"The entire Lakeside Pearl development sold out immediately. Only a few units remain." The saleswoman maintained a professional smile, but her tone left no room for negotiation.

Patricia Lorenz stomped her foot in frustration. "We're definitely buying! Let's secure it now!"

"Please present your ID to sign the contract immediately."

Patricia's eyes darted nervously. "Can we...come back tomorrow to sign?"

The saleswoman's smile faded slightly. "They might be gone by tomorrow."

Patricia bit her lip. "Let me make a quick call."

She hurried to a corner, glancing warily back at Victoria and Evelyn to ensure they couldn't overhear before dialing.

"Dad, I'm at Lakeside Pearl! The units are selling like hotcakes..."

Her voice dripped with saccharine sweetness as her fingers absently twisted her purse strap.

The plan had been set long ago.

Her parents would purchase this luxury apartment for her to live in. After all, as their only daughter, the property would inevitably become hers someday.

"Hurry over to sign the contract! They're almost gone..."

Meanwhile, Evelyn and Victoria grew impatient.

William Langley's call came at the perfect moment. "Victoria, the Lakeside Villa is perfect! The backyard has space for flower beds, vegetable gardens, even a grapevine trellis..."

Victoria's eyes lit up. "We're on our way!"

...

Night fell by the time Patricia completed the paperwork.

Slumping into the car seat, she smirked in satisfaction. "Finally done."

Charles Lorenz frowned. "Was rushing necessary? Dragging your parents out this late..."

"You don't understand," Patricia scoffed. "Prime properties wait for no one."

She leaned closer to her husband. "Want to live there?"

Charles blinked. "What do you mean?"

"My parents' property will be mine eventually." Her smile turned calculating. "Why not enjoy it sooner?"

"You—" Charles inhaled sharply.

Patricia shrugged. "They only have me as their heir."

Gazing at the neon lights outside, she plotted how to persuade her parents.

That brat Evelyn could never afford such an expensive home anyway.
