Chapter 318

Evelyn Langley tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep.

The man's deep voice still echoed in her ears.

His gaze had been steady as a deep pool, his tone leaving no room for doubt.

That powerful aura radiating from within made her yearn.

For the first time, she desired to become someone like that.

......

Sophia Laurent drove straight to the bar after dropping them off.

Her Ferrari cut a red arc through the night streets.

Just as she was backing into a parking space—

BAM!

A silver Maserati suddenly swerved from behind, slamming into her rear bumper.

"Fuck!" Sophia kicked open her car door.

Stomping in heels, she marched to the offending vehicle and banged on the window. "Are you fucking blind? Couldn't see this wide-ass road?"

The window rolled down to reveal Julian Roscente's smirking face. "Well, if it isn't Miss Laurent."

"How much have you had to drink?" Sophia sneered. "Can't even see parking spaces now?"

Julian stepped out to inspect the damage.

The Ferrari's rear was visibly dented.

"No big deal," he waved dismissively. "My fault. Insurance will cover it."

"Damn right it's your fault!" Sophia threw her keys at him. "I've got plans. You handle the mess."

As she turned to leave, a sharp slap froze her in place.

SMACK!

A woman in a business suit stood before Julian, eyes red-rimmed.

"You bastard!" Her voice trembled. "Breaking up just like that?"

Julian rubbed his cheek, smile intact. "Miss Si, let's part amicably."

"I refuse!" The woman suddenly clung to him. "I don't need commitment..."

Sophia stared, dumbfounded.

The woman's flawless makeup was ruined by tears as she desperately gripped Julian's collar.

"We can increase the settlement," Julian said coolly.

She shoved him away, eyes blazing with despair. "Julian Roscente, karma will get you!"

"Someday you'll meet someone who'll never be yours."

"Then you'll understand true agony!"

Wiping her tears, she fled into the night.

Julian straightened his rumpled collar and shrugged at Sophia. "My apologies for the scene."

Sophia scoffed and strode into the bar without looking back.
