Chapter 364
Julian Roscente scoffed coldly. This woman had absolutely no sense of boundaries!
He returned to his room alone, his appetite gone. He collapsed onto the bed without another thought.
Moonlight spilled like water across the silent night.
By nine the next morning, Julian was already marching straight to Sophia Laurent's room.
His hand hovered mid-knock when the door suddenly swung open from inside.
"Soph—"
He froze.
A young man stood in the doorway, his hair disheveled, eyes still heavy with sleep.
Their gazes locked.
Julian's mind went blank.
The man gave a casual nod, keeping his voice low. "She's still asleep."
Then he strolled past without another word.
Julian stood rooted in the hallway for a full thirty seconds before reality crashed over him.
Sophia had actually brought a man back to his hotel—to spend the night?
He stormed into the room and slammed the door with enough force to rattle the frame.
Unfortunately, the soundproofing was impeccable. Not even a whisper of noise escaped.
Furious, he kicked over a chair—only for the plush carpet to swallow the impact.
With a sharp yank, he tore open the curtains.
Blinding sunlight finally jolted Sophia awake.
"Adrian Lefèvre! Are you trying to die?!"
She sat up with a snarl, squinting against the glare.
"Close the damn curtains!" she barked.
Julian let out a humorless laugh.
His face darkened as his gaze raked over the love bites scattered across her skin.
"Sophia Laurent. You’ve been busy."
Hearing his voice, Sophia snapped fully alert.
She blinked up at him, then yanked the sheets higher. "Julian? What the hell—since when do you barge in uninvited?"
"Someone opened the door for me." His eyes swept the room, finding no available seating. He perched on the edge of the bed instead. "Quite the seamless transition, I see."
"Who pissed in your cereal this morning?" She burrowed deeper into the blankets. "If you’re just here to bitch, get out."
Then she flopped back onto the pillows.
"...Close the curtains."
Julian stared, dumbfounded.
She’d actually gone back to sleep.
When Sophia woke again, the room was bathed in soft light.
She stretched leisurely.
"Finally awake?" Julian’s voice was ice.
Sophia flicked a glance his way. "You’re still here?"
She shrugged on a silk wrap, revealing fresh marks along her collarbone.
"Perfect." She pointed lazily. "Get me some ice water."
Julian’s expression turned thunderous.
"The fridge is right there." She rolled her eyes. "Don’t even know your own hotel..."
A vein pulsed at his temple.
