Chapter 345
"Mom, Tyler found that bastard's company!"
Tyler Lombardi was a good-for-nothing slacker who specialized in shady dealings.
Nathan Evans hadn't held much hope, but surprisingly, the kid actually tracked down the address of Nathan's firm.
"Perfect! I was just wondering how to find him!" Linda Lombardi's eyes gleamed. "Come on, son. Let's go pay him a visit!"
All those days spent lurking outside the Evans residence had only succeeded in keeping Margaret Evans housebound—no real benefits gained.
Now their chance had finally arrived...
Thirty minutes later.
"This is Nathan Evans's company?" Tyler craned his neck to stare at the towering skyscraper, his Adam's apple bobbing. "How much is this place worth?"
Linda clicked her tongue. "Damn, your sister really landed herself a sugar daddy!"
If they could extort some money from this, they'd be set for life.
Exchanging glances, they marched straight toward the building's entrance.
But the security was tight—no access without a keycard.
Linda spotted a janitor cleaning nearby. She dragged her son into a supply closet and stole two uniforms.
Inside the building, their furtive glances stood out conspicuously.
They squeezed into an elevator with the crowd. Linda whispered, "Son, did your friend say which floor he's on?"
Tyler shook his head. "No, but the big boss must be at the top."
The elevator dinged at the penthouse.
Stepping out, Linda gaped. "This place is huge. Where do we go?"
Tyler was equally lost. "Let's try straight ahead?"
After a few steps, the "CEO's Office" sign loomed before them.
"Halt!" An assistant suddenly stood up and barked. "Which floor are you janitors from?"
He strode over, eyeing the mother-son pair suspiciously.
"We're new hires..." Linda forced a smile. "Wrong floor. Thought we'd clean up while we're here..."
She made to push past toward the office.
"Stop!" The assistant snapped. "No unauthorized personnel in Mr. Evans's office."
His gaze lingered on Tyler's youthful face, brows furrowing. "Show me your ID badges."
