Chapter 303

The surveillance footage clearly captured her sneaking into the study and swapping the documents.

It also showed all the times she'd hurled insults at Margaret Evans and bossed her around.

Chloe Valentine froze in shock.

Perhaps it was the damning video evidence. Or perhaps it was the two brutal slaps Nathan had just delivered.

"I thought you were just vain and shallow. I didn't realize you were also a pathological liar, viciously cruel, and a master at stirring up trouble."

"These slaps are to remind you of your place and crush any delusions you might have. Consider this a warning—if you cause any more trouble—"

Nathan Evans narrowed his eyes, his voice icy.

"I'll show you what true suffering feels like."

Chloe staggered back, her terror so overwhelming she barely registered the stinging pain on her face.

"N-Nathan, I'm sorry..."

His expression remained impassive.

"I'll go apologize to Aunt Margaret right now! She can hit me, yell at me—whatever it takes to make her forgive me..."

Still, he said nothing.

Panic set in. Tears and snot streamed down her face. "I didn't mean to do it! Maybe my hormones are out of whack because of the pregnancy..."

Nathan watched her performance with cold detachment.

"...Finished?"

She blinked.

"Done crying?"

"Nathan..."

"Then go pack your things."

"W-what?"

He smirked. "Did you think I was joking last time when I told you to get out? Letting you stay an extra two weeks was more than generous."

"No! You can't do this!" Chloe shook her head violently, trembling at the thought of being thrown out.

"I'm carrying your child! You can't kick me out!"

Nathan dialed security without hesitation.

"No...I won't go..."

Before security arrived, Chloe snapped.

She lunged at him. "How dare you throw me out?! Your mother cares so much about this baby—what will you tell her?!"

Caught off guard, Nathan found himself grabbed by the crazed woman as she pummeled him wildly.

"Nathan Evans! You bastard!"

"I'm pregnant, and you're still hung up on your ex—"

"I'd rather die than leave!"

Her shrill screams grated on his nerves. With an irritated shove, he pushed her away.

Chloe slammed into the wall with a dull thud.

But she seemed numb to the pain. Regaining her footing, she charged again.

This time, Nathan sidestepped smoothly.

Unable to stop her momentum, Chloe crashed straight into the edge of the desk.

She froze. Her face drained of color.

A warm wetness trickled down her thighs.

She looked down.

Bright red blood streamed down her legs.

Drip.

Drip.

The vivid crimson spread across the floor.

She felt something vital slipping away...

Her legs gave out. She nearly fainted.

"Ahhh—my baby—"

A bloodcurdling scream pierced the night.

......

Nathan dropped her at the hospital and left.

After all her previous fake emergencies, how could this one be real?

Just another act.

He'd see how long she could keep it up!

"Where's the family? We can't save the fetus—she needs an induced abortion. A relative must sign the consent form!"
