Chapter 106

"Darling, does this look good?" Chloe Valentine held up a backless sundress against her body.

Nathan Evans kept his eyes glued to his phone screen. "Mhm."

She picked up another floral dress. "How about this one? Too plain?"

"Fine."

"Then this?" She lifted a deep V-neck slip dress. "A bit sexier..."

Chloe suddenly realized Nathan hadn't glanced her way the entire time.

Her brows furrowed in irritation, but she swallowed her anger.

"Sweetheart~" She fluttered into his arms like a butterfly. "Help me choose one."

Nathan pointed absently. "That one."

"Oh! That's my favorite too!" She blinked in delight. "We're so in sync~ Now I'll..." She bit her lip. "Try it on for you?"

"Mhm."

Chloe began unbuttoning her dress right in front of him.

Only when she unhooked her bra did Nathan finally look up. His gaze was as indifferent as if studying furniture.

"What are you doing?" He frowned.

She froze.

"Is the dressing room broken?"

"...I'll go now." Grabbing the dress, she fled in embarrassment.

When she returned, Nathan was massaging his temples. This impromptu vacation had left a backlog of company documents he'd just finished.

"Ready?" He stood.

"Y-yes."

"Let's go." He walked out without looking back.

Chloe's enthusiasm evaporated. But she quickly rallied—once other men admired her on the beach, he'd get jealous.

She deliberately tugged her neckline lower.

"Wait for me~"

The beach swarmed with people.

Colorful bikinis and swim trunks glinted under the sun. Chloe purposefully kept distance from Nathan, drawing appreciative whistles.

Nathan ignored them all, heading straight for a lounge chair.

Chloe hovered awkwardly.

She came to enjoy herself, not endure indifference. But for Nathan, she'd swallow anything.

"Hi, beautiful Eastern rose." A blond Adonis approached. "From China?"

She flashed a sweet smile. "Yes! Your Mandarin is excellent."

"I teach it at university..."

Their conversation flowed, but Chloe kept stealing glances at Nathan's reaction.
