Chapter 103
Chloe Valentine's tenderness and care gave Nathan Evans an unprecedented sense of fulfillment.
Evelyn Langley had never treated him this way.
But after actually being with Chloe, Nathan felt something was missing. It was like scratching an itch through a boot—frustrating and unsettling.
The beach under the moonlight was exceptionally enchanting.
Nathan walked aimlessly before suddenly stopping.
On a beach chair not far away, Evelyn was clinking glasses with Ethan Winston. Under the moonlight, her radiant smile was one Nathan hadn't seen in a long time.
"Nathan, what are you—"
Chloe caught up, slightly out of breath, and followed his gaze. She feigned surprise. "Evelyn and Ethan seem so close." She tilted her head, her tone innocent. "Drinking together at night—how romantic."
Nathan's jaw tightened.
"From a distance, they looked like a couple deeply in love." Chloe blinked. "But they do make a good match."
"Do you think... they planned this vacation together?"
She pretended to sneeze and leaned into Nathan. "The sea breeze is so cold..."
Her thin spaghetti-strap dress fluttered in the night wind.
Nathan remained motionless, his eyes fixed on the distant pair.
Chloe gritted her teeth discreetly, maintaining her sweet smile. "Shall we head back?"
Nathan shook off her hand and turned to leave.
"Wait for me!" Chloe hurried after him, glancing back at Evelyn with a flash of malice in her eyes.
Back at the villa, Chloe touched up her makeup in front of the mirror.
Her reflection showed flawless skin and lips like fire.
The shower stopped, and Nathan emerged, drying his hair. He went straight to the wine cabinet and poured himself a glass of red wine.
Chloe pressed against him from behind, tracing circles on his chest. "Nathan..." Her voice was sultry. "You haven't touched me lately..."
She rose on her tiptoes, her breath warm against his ear. "I miss you..."
When Nathan didn't resist, she boldly untied the sash of his robe.
"Enough."
Nathan suddenly pushed her away, his gaze icy. "I'm not in the mood."
Chloe froze, watching as he walked into the guest room.
She clenched her fists, nails digging into her palms.
After what happened last time, their relationship should have deepened. Instead, Nathan had grown increasingly distant.
No matter how hard she tried, he remained indifferent.
