Chapter 447

Sebastian Laurent knew exactly how deeply Evelyn Sinclair had once loved that man.

He had witnessed her struggles, her heartbreak, the way she poured her soul into loving him.

He had seen her fight, her persistence, the lengths she went to just for his attention.

"That man is dead? What a pity," Sebastian sighed. "The person I loved is also gone." Evelyn lowered her gaze, silent.

Nathan Blackwood was no longer the man she had once been obsessed with.

To her, Nathan Blackwood had died long ago.

After all the twists and turns, her heart had changed completely by the time she returned to the place where it all began.

Meanwhile, in Highland Estates, the supposedly "dead" Nathan Blackwood suddenly sneezed.

The servants immediately stiffened, alert.

Evelyn and Sebastian exchanged a quiet glance.

Then, Sebastian's eyes lit up. "Oh! Let me introduce you to my first student—still single, by the way!"

Evelyn barely reacted. "That won't be necessary."

"He's already here! What timing!" Sebastian grinned. "Speak of the devil!"

Evelyn turned, her mood complicated.

The moment she saw the man, her body froze. Her eyes widened in shock.

"Mr. Sinclair?!"

Standing before her was none other than the impeccably dressed Preston Sinclair.

When Preston spotted Evelyn, surprise flickered across his face—but only for a second. His expression smoothed into calm indifference.

"Ms. Sterling," he said coolly. "What brings you here?"

"You two know each other?!" Sebastian looked even more stunned.

Evelyn and Preston nodded simultaneously.

Sebastian shook his head in disbelief. "Then this is fate! A match made in heaven!"

An awkward silence fell.

Evelyn frowned. "Don't be ridiculous. We just have business dealings."

It was the truth.

Sebastian nodded in understanding. "Right, I forgot—my only two students are both powerhouses on the Forbes list. Of course you'd cross paths."

Preston chuckled. "Two students? The other one is Ms. Sterling?"

Evelyn was even more astonished. She barely kept her composure.

What kind of absurd coincidence was this?!

Sebastian Laurent, the genius professor, had always kept his students' identities strictly confidential. No one knew who they were—not even each other.

Sebastian pointed at Evelyn. "Yep, that's her."

Preston's gaze sharpened with interest. "Sebastian, given your standards, I never expected you to take on another student. And for it to be Ms. Sterling… what are the odds?"

Evelyn let out a dry laugh. "Extremely low, apparently."

Sebastian gestured at Preston with a grin. "He's two years older than me. Became my student after losing to me in an international hacking competition."

Then he pointed at Evelyn. "She became my student because she beat me in the European International Tournament."

Preston's smile deepened. "Ms. Sterling, I didn’t know you had an interest in coding."

Evelyn was a brilliant businesswoman, the heiress of a wealthy family. Preston hadn’t expected her to have such skills.

Evelyn arched a brow. "Just a hobby from my past."

Preston didn’t press further.

Sebastian studied them both, his gaze flickering with amusement. "You two are clearly meant to be. Don’t waste this opportunity."

Evelyn rolled her eyes. "Stop meddling." She smoothly turned to Preston, changing the subject. "Oliver didn’t come with you?"

Preston replied, "He’s still intimidated by teachers, honestly."

Evelyn nodded in understanding.

Outside, Marcus stood guard, watching the scene unfold.

Despite his professional training, even he couldn’t hide his surprise at seeing Preston Sinclair there.

Theodore "Teddy" Winslow hurried over with two ice cream cones, slightly out of breath.

"Marcus, take one! You can have chocolate. I’ll take strawberry."
