Chapter 22
Evelyn Sinclair's fingers flew across her phone screen as she posted the damning evidence using her newly created social media account.
Within minutes, the post went viral.
Influencers across platforms began sharing her revelations, their massive followings amplifying the scandal. The internet exploded with reactions.
Evelyn's follower count multiplied exponentially as the digital mob descended upon Tristan Whitmore's online presence.
People started digging into Tristan's privileged background, his shady business dealings, even his private party photos that somehow leaked.
Kingsley Tech Headquarters.
Tristan stormed into Nathan Blackwood's office without knocking. "You need to control your ex-wife!" he shouted, face flushed with rage.
Nathan barely glanced up from his contract review. His icy gaze flickered to Tristan for only a second before returning to his documents.
"Look at this!" Tristan shoved his phone in Nathan's face, displaying the brutal online takedown. "She's publicly humiliating me! My wife's filing for divorce because of this!"
Nathan's expression darkened as he scanned the posts. After a tense silence, his deep voice cut through the room. "So you tried to cyberbully her... and got outplayed?"
Tristan stiffened. "I just wanted to scare her a little! How was I supposed to know those paparazzi would screw me over?"
Nathan tossed the phone onto his desk with a clatter. "You deserve this."
"Come on, man! I only got involved because Sophia asked me to help!" Tristan's voice cracked with desperation. "If not for me, they'd be coming after your sister instead!"
Nathan's jaw tightened at the mention of his sister's meddling. The restaurant incident should have been warning enough about her foolishness.
Tristan kept pleading. "That bitch went straight to Dominic Young at Horizon Media! Now no one will take my calls. I'm being crucified online!"
The situation had spiraled beyond Tristan's worst nightmares. Evelyn's counterattack left him exposed and vulnerable.
His grandfather threatened to disown him. His social circle mocked him. Even his usually docile wife had grown a spine.
Tristan didn't care about the marriage - but losing his family's support would ruin him.
Nathan finally looked up, his cold stare piercing. "There's only one person who can fix this for you."
"Evelyn?" Tristan recoiled. "I'm not groveling to that scheming-"
The office door opened as Harrison entered. "Sir, the board is waiting."
Nathan stood, straightening his suit. "Handle your own mess." He walked out without another glance.
Defeated, Tristan slumped in his car, ignoring the barrage of angry calls from his family.
"This is bullshit!" He slammed his fist against the steering wheel.
But he had no choice. Unless he appeased Evelyn, his life would implode.
With great reluctance, Tristan ordered his assistant to post a public apology from his verified account with 800,000 followers:
[I sincerely regret sharing edited content about Ms. Sinclair. My actions were inappropriate and I take full responsibility for any harm caused.]
The surrender was complete.
Tristan knew Evelyn must have concrete proof of his involvement. Continuing this battle would only bring more humiliation.
Though not a public figure, the damage to his reputation stung. His social circle would never let him live this down.
Sterling Corporation.
Isabella Montgomery breezed into Evelyn's office, waving her phone triumphantly. "Tristan Whitmore folded faster than cheap lawn furniture! I expected at least a day of fighting."
Evelyn smirked, scrolling through the apology. "Some men can't handle when a woman fights back."
