Chapter 252

The moment the words left her lips, the grand hall fell into stunned silence. Then, like a sudden storm, the room erupted into chaos. Online, the reactions were even more explosive.

[No way! What kind of plot twist is this?!]

[I thought I was President Sinclair, marry me instead!]

[AAAAAHHHH!!! Evelyn has three god-tier brothers?! Why don’t I have any?!]

[I thought the biggest reveal was Lucas being a Sterling—how did they manage to keep Donovan a secret too?!]

[The legendary Donovan Sterling could’ve coasted on his family name, but he built his empire from scratch. Respect.]

[Our Julian still has a shot! President Sinclair, don’t forget about him!]

Inside the venue, the murmurs grew so loud that the original purpose of the press conference was completely overshadowed. What was meant to be a brief announcement stretched into an hour-long spectacle.

Dominic Kingsley tugged at Nathan Blackwood’s sleeve, refusing to let go. "Did you hear that?"

Nathan snapped out of his daze. Of course he had heard it. Evelyn’s voice echoed in his mind, replaying on an endless loop.

Donovan was a Sterling. He was Evelyn’s brother.

Nathan should have guessed—Donovan had always been unusually familiar with Evelyn. On the surface, Nathan remained composed, but beneath that calm exterior, his emotions churned violently.

He had nearly lost his temper earlier.

Dominic’s tone dripped with sarcastic regret. "What a surprise, huh? Turns out they’re actually siblings."

Nathan’s lips curled slightly, accentuating his sharp jawline and giving him an air of restrained nobility. "Evelyn has always had high standards. Otherwise, why would she have fallen for me in the first place?"

Dominic rolled his eyes. Was this man seriously complimenting himself? Too bad for him—Evelyn’s tastes had clearly evolved.

After the press conference, Evelyn and Donovan politely ushered the crowd out. The reporters left with more than they bargained for—not only had they witnessed Nathan’s rare public appearance, but Donovan’s revelation had been the cherry on top.

At the entrance, Dominic and Nathan exchanged farewells. Dominic’s assistant kept urging him to leave, but he lingered, watching as Nathan checked his watch with deliberate nonchalance.

Nathan didn’t seem in any hurry. His gaze drifted to Evelyn, who was still tidying up inside the venue. Her sleek, understated outfit made her stand out effortlessly.

Dominic let out a soft sigh. "Who would’ve thought she’d handle such a mess so smoothly?"

Though Sterling Corporation had taken a hit, their reputation had emerged stronger than ever.

"A clean victory," Dominic mused. "Evelyn’s the only one who could walk out of this corporate battlefield unscathed."

Nathan’s expression darkened slightly. "She’s more like a little white rabbit."

In his eyes, Evelyn’s methods were still too soft. The executives in Charleston should’ve faced more than just financial penalties—they deserved full accountability.

Dominic’s lips twitched. He had no words.

Evelyn approached them with a polished, professional smile. Her expression gave nothing away—she didn’t even glance at Nathan as she addressed Dominic directly.

"This matter will blow over soon. My apologies for the inconvenience."

Dominic shrugged. "As long as it’s resolved, I’m satisfied. Well done, President Sinclair. Today’s news should send Sterling Corporation’s stocks soaring again. Congratulations."

He was, of course, referring to Donovan’s grand reveal.

Evelyn’s smile remained diplomatic. "A win for both of us. Congratulations to you as well, President Kingsley."

She glanced at her watch. "It’s getting late. I still have work to attend to, so I’ll take my leave."

Dominic gave a slight nod, then shot Nathan a meaningful look before turning away.

Left alone, Nathan studied Evelyn. Every movement was graceful, every gesture refined—yet the smile she offered him was nothing more than polite artifice. His chest tightened.

"Mr. Blackwood," she spoke first, her tone cool. "I’d also like to thank you for having President Kingsley inform me about the situation in Charleston."

Nathan hesitated. "And how do you plan to thank me?"
