Chapter 130

Dominic Kingsley and Nathan Blackwood approached Emily Whitaker with measured steps.

Dominic's voice cut through the tension. "Emily, do you recognize the gentleman standing beside Ms. Sinclair?"

Emily remained transfixed by the sight of the formidable Donovan Sterling lowering himself to cater to Evelyn's every need. The scene stirred equal parts envy and admiration in her heart.

What a perfect match they make!

Her head bobbed in automatic agreement before she caught herself and shook it vehemently.

Evelyn had sworn her to secrecy!

Nathan's eyes narrowed to slits as Emily scooped up the discarded suit jacket and umbrella from the pavement. "I'm just a researcher," she muttered, fleeing the scene. "Business negotiations aren't my forte!"

Leo's mechanical eyes darted between the men as its internal systems prepared to dial Evelyn. A large hand intercepted the movement mid-air.

Nathan studied the robotic tiger with growing suspicion. "Do you still remember me?" His voice carried restrained fury.

The AI tiger thrashed its mechanical limbs in protest. "Jerk! I want Mommy!" it declared in halting tones.

Dominic's eyebrows shot up. "This little traitor used to adore you, Nathan. When did you become 'jerk' in its programming?"

Leo turned its head away with a mechanical sniff. "Unworthy!"

After all, its loyalty followed Evelyn's commands without question. Nathan's face darkened dangerously just as Harrison arrived with an umbrella.

Before the assistant could speak, Leo chirped, "Daddy! Kisses!"

Harrison froze like a statue, nearly dropping the umbrella under Nathan's glacial stare. "I swear I've never—"

"Daddy, you're so handsome!" Leo continued cheerfully.

Dominic erupted into laughter while Harrison looked ready to faint. "This isn't funny!" the assistant protested.

Their attention snapped to the returning Rolls-Royce. Nathan's expression turned arctic as the car door opened.

Donovan emerged, extending a hand. "I'm here for Leo."

Nathan practically threw the robotic tiger at him, his temper barely contained. His sharp gaze swept the empty backseat—Evelyn's absence spoke volumes.

"Donovan," Dominic began with deliberate casualness, "are you and Evelyn involved?"

The scientist's expression remained impassive. "That's classified."

Dominic smirked and gestured toward Nathan. "Do you know who this is?"

Donovan studied Nathan briefly before shaking his head. "Should I?"

Before Dominic could explain, Nathan bit out, "I'm her dead ex-husband." The words Evelyn had used at the airport still burned.

Donovan nodded once. "Then I definitely shouldn't tell you." With that, he disappeared into the luxury vehicle.

Dominic's laughter followed the departing car. "He's got the same sharp tongue as Ms. Sinclair!"

Nathan's murderous glare silenced him instantly.

Meanwhile, Donovan collected Evelyn from a nearby station platform. She cradled Leo remorsefully. "I'm so sorry, baby. Mommy didn't mean to leave you behind!"

The robotic tiger nuzzled against her dramatically. "Then I want a Mesgarzadeh rug!"

Evelyn blinked. While other pets demanded treats, hers had developed a taste for luxury decor. "Fine," she sighed. "You win."

Donovan shot the machine a disdainful look. What a spoiled little beast.
